“Don't miss it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

We had tuna tartar, lobster and crab. Everything was delicious!
We had white wine recommended to us by the attendant, he was very helpful and explained everything to us.
To finish we shared a huge piece of cake.

We had to wait to be seated for ten minutes over the time of our reservation, but it was worth it.

Be sure to make your reservation with time, because it's full!

“Good food, great service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Made reservations for Saturday night 8 pm. They were really busy and we were not seated until 8:30. We were able to get a drink at the bar while we waited. (no seating available at the bar) but we mingled with others while we waited. The waiters are extremely professional. There is always someone tending to the tables. Food was served promptly. I had the seafood salad and it was wonderful. Hubby had the crab and was disappointed. It seemed to be over cooked. They took the charge off our bill, but we paid half anyways. It was edible just very hard to get the meat off the shell. They serve a variety of breads before the meal which are to die for! It's kind of pricy there but they do have great food. Seemed to be a to go for special occasions for the locals. Very busy but you could still carry on a conversation with your party.

“Second thoughts about what has been a longtime favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

For a number of years Joe's has been our "go-to" place for a special dinner while in Chicago. We returned this year, and while the food was delicious we felt a vibe that we'd sensed in the past, but which seemed much stronger this time around. The vibe: a strong disapproval from the wait staff when we kept the meal simple and didn't order side dishes, desserts, etc. We are light eaters and love the entrees, but we both definitely felt pressure to order more than we wanted. It dampened an otherwise very good meal.

Dinner for twenty on the mezzanine. Good representation of beef, seafood, and crab. Exceptional wine menu. Timely and excellent service. Looking forward to my next visit.

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

We went with a group and they put us in a private room, which worked very well. The crab cakes are as good as I've had in Maryland, the mashed potatoes are excellent. The desserts are all very good and the service was great.
