“Never wanted to leave my room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

This recently built hotel (Sept 2013) is truly the crown jewel of downtown Chicago. Located directly on the River Walk, you are only a short walk or short ride from most of the town well know attractions.

Our 5 star experience began simply by pulling up to the front door. Ample attendants quickly assisted getting us and luggage on our way to check in. We were welcomed on the main floor by name every time we entered or exited the building.

Check in took a few minutes, as rooms were being cleaned. We checked in at 3:30 pm. The front desk was courteous and friendly.

The room was magnificent! We had a standard room which included a plush king size bed, and a spa bathroom consisting of a bathing area, double granite sinks, and water closet.

The two person soaking tub included a hand held sprayer to rinse after soaking. A rain head shower provided the ultimate shower, and a standard adjustable hand unit was also part of bathing experience.

Sheets are a higher count. This hotel is luxury at its finest. The hardest part was saying good-bye. The Langham is a destination.

The hotel looks great, very pleasant staff.but the price is high.
We where 2adults, 2 kids in a double double room, I will not do that again, just not enought space .but the room price are high and they don't offer the second room at 50% discount like many other do.we where there 4 nights.
The glas window between the room and bathroom is clear, but become frosty with the push off a button.very impressive .
The bathroom is almost the same size then the room.
housekeeping did some things certain days, like put out body scrub and lotion and not on other.one night we got turn down services with little white towels on the ground, that was the only time.

The pool and hot tub where a great place to spend a few hours.

My daughter go look in the bathroom because the door when off its railing. 2 man came and got her out within 10 minutes.we think that the type of things you remember well traveling, it was funny.we where told that it happens some time, but that most people don't use the door.housekeeping brought her cookies to make it up.

The concierge let us use the cinema suite to watch a movie ,just the 4 of us. The kids loved it.it was really nice of Lauren .

The hotel is very central, look beautiful, staff is nice but it is not always consistent.the rooms are pricey and so are the breakfast,we just ate elsewhere, 47$ per person plus 18% tips plus taxes?that would be 250 $ just for breakfast.

Great hotel. Far more modern style than I would want in my house, but for a hotel it was nice. Pool and hot tub was awesome, staff is great, recognized us. Coffee maker in the room works very well for coffee or espresso. Good beds, great showers. The entrance is a little strange, as the first floor is really small and only means to get you to the elevators, check in and lobby on second floor. Used Hotwire to save some money. Also used Spothero to park at the Marina Towers, $38 per day instead of $71 at the Langham, still valet parking -- BUT, only do this if you do not want in-out privileges. It is literally across the street. The location of the Langham is fantastic, and a very different crowd than the Trump across the street.

Room Tip: Very few river/lake view rooms, since in the shadow of the Trump.

My daughter and I visited Chicago for a shopping trip to celebrate her graduation. The Langham and its incredible staff were an integral part of the wonderful experience we had. Every single staff person we encountered was beyond pleasant and helpful, from the bell staff going the extra mile for us, to the concierge recommending an awesome steak house and taking care of our dinner reservations (including a surprise personalized menu for my daughter!), to the friendly and comedic driver who kept us relaxed and laughing as he drove us in style to our destination. As others have commented, bathrooms are incredible--we both agree that we had the best showers of our lives at this hotel. I have already planned to return to the Langham with my husband for a long weekend. Book this hotel--don't look anywhere else. You will be beyond satisfied.

Room Tip: As this trip was mother/daughter, we had double-bed rooms which are limited in view; however upon ch...

Location, attention, decor, ambiance, cordial service, perfect bed, great food and top spa .. Just perfect. This is a brand new hotel in the heart of Chicago, I highly recommend The Langham Hotel. We had planed to stay at the Four Seasons but a friend urged us to check out this gem. He was right. The room is very large, has high ceilings, all down to earth user-friendly high-tech electrical buttons, quiet and the perfect location. Everything is within walking distance or a five minutes ride in the hotel provided car service.

The bathroom is very spacious, good counter space, has a separate vanity and dressing area and the best shower and adjacent tub!

Huge thanks to concierge Timo, make sure and let him book you at Le Colonial, the best Vietnamese restaurant in the USA.

The spa was gorgeous, ultra clean and attentively staffed, did find a massage kind of steep at 180.00 for a 50 minutes deep tissue but the steam room and sauna chilled me out.

Breakfast may become a legend: try the salmon eggs Benedict. Got delicious chocolate bars as a welcome!

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend in Chicago over the 4th of July. We stayed at the Langham and it was so wonderful! The service we received was excellent starting as soon as we walked through the door. The staff was informed and helpful with a positive attitude. We had some issues with our reservations and they worked with us, again with a smile, to resolve this issue. The issue was a difference in the reservation we could see on our online account versus the one they had in their system. After we checked in we went to our room and were only more amazed. The room was incredible. They have a double vanity with a separate place to sit and put on makeup. In the room is both a stand up shower head and a wonderful large tub. They are located behind the same glass door. We had one King bed, a small table, a desk, and two chairs. The refrigerator and wet bar area in the room was so nice. We did not partake in any of the beverages but had bought a bottle of wine to enjoy during a park concert that we then were able to finish in the room in wine glasses. It was so nice to not need to use the glass cups that are intended for water. We also used the champagne flutes provided in our room. We joined the 1865 club, which is a free club where you earn points for each stay, and we were able to enjoy free wifi. The turn down service is wonderful as well. Each night when we returned to the hotel after walking all over the city the beds were turned down and slippers laid in front of each side. The even hung the robes out of the closet. They also leave classical music playing which is such a special touch. If you are looking for a place where they will meet you every need, including bringing up a microwave, plates, and silverware for your leftovers, you have found the right place in The Langham. The concierge is also always very helpful. I highly recommend!

Perfect location in downtown Chicago. The room was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Spa was also impressive and worth a visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was the first day of a cross country vacation started right.
