Just got back my husband and I have of an excellent stay at the Amalfi, the room is very large, I think it was the best decision we could have. The amenities are very attractive, free internet, continental breakfast just to turn on the day!, And afternoon happy hour ... with delicious snacks and drinks, you have to try "Amalfitini" the house specialty. The hotel is 8-10 minutes walk from the Clark station, so you do not need to take taxi to get there, there are many restaurants nearby, convenience stores, I recommend the place with the best pizza in chicago "Lou Malnati's" try the pizza "deep dish" is her specialty.

Another trip to Chicago and the Amalfi hotel was again our choice. We were not disappointed. The staff greeted us warmly and cheerfully aided us in planning our days and nights on the town. They seem to have a good feel for the best way to combine all of the activities we wanted to explore and the most direct way to get to them.
We purchased the visitors pass at the airport and took the orange line to the hotel which we feel is centrally located to the tourist locations we intend to visit. This time we took the train to see the houses that Frank Lloyd Wright designed and the directions given by the hotel staff were perfect.
It was nice to come back and be greeted by the Manager’s evening reception with the delicious cheeses, Italian cold cuts, and a nice variety of roasted vegetables and crackers. Complimentary drinks were cheerfully provided by the always smiling bartender.
The room was nicely appointed, the bed very comfortable and the slippers and robe perfect for visiting the delicious continental breakfast provided on each floor outside the elevators every morning. We were pleased to see that it was exactly as we remembered it and one of the best continental breakfasts we have had in any hotel.
We are already starting to plan our next trip to Chicago and the Amalfi will again be the only hotel we will consider. I continue to recommend it to everyone including a travel agent who asked me where I stayed during my last trip.

I stayed here in 2004 and thought it was incredible, and I was very excited to return. I was a little worried that I had overhyped it to myself, and it wouldn't quite live up to the expectations of the younger, more easily impressed me. I was wrong. The Amalfi is one of the best hotel experiences a person can possibly have (outside of the people who drop like 5k a night on rooms).

Upon entering, the lobby is nice with music playing, and the checkin is very smooth. The rooms are great. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever been in. the mattress, sheets, pillows, everything. I can go on and on about these beds, they are that comfortable. Nice LCD TVs and they leave a few books and jazz CDs in your room which is really cool! I read they have a library of DVDs and CDs if you want. I didnt check out the minibar but from my last experience i think i really liked it. There's not much of a view, but who cares. Nice robe and slippers in the rooms also.

The hotel as a gym which is basically a few treadmills, but it helps. USA today at your door every morning. Each floor has a breakfast station which is really cool. Juices, bagels, pastries, etc.

The hotel as a complimentary happy hour also, from 530-7 with free alcohol (tip the bartender because they are very nice and hook you up) and some food. cheeses, foccaccia, salami, brushetta, etc.

The $ for the hotel is very good for where it is. In the area, there are plenty of bars, grills, restaurants etc. For business travelers, its about a $7 cab ride to the sears tower.

The hotel is perfect for business or for traveling to visit chicago with a spouse. I will definitely be returning here!

Had a great time at the Amalfi for a "girls weekend". I saw the great ratings and review on Trip Advisor first then began to check out prices on several online booking agents. Found a good price online and then called the Amalfi directly. Not only did they match the price--they beat the price by 10%! So, we got a really good deal on the room!
We had four females in one room with two double beds, so it was a little tight but that's to be expected. The room was neat and clean and loved the bathroom.
Loved the breakfast on the floor so we didn't have to trek downstairs while getting ready in the morning.
The location was great for our trip. Situated about half-way between the Mile and the theater district. Also, the best Thai restaurant in Chicago is right behind the Amalfi (Vongs Thai Kitchen).
Had a super experience and would love to stay her again!
