This is not a fancy hotel, but for the price it's perfect. My room was large if a bit austere in its furnishings. I did like the complimentary evening cocktail reception and the morning continental breakfast that is set up by the elevator on each floor. The staff was especially pleasant and helpful.

Ok, this isn't the Ritz or W, but for rooms <$150 a night, this is an excellent choice in a great location. It is near dozens of fine restaurants, bars, stores, clubs and all that downtown Chicago has to offer. Rooms are comfortable, well lit, and they even offer a pet floor. The free breakfast is adequate, but the free cocktail hour was great. Staff is attentive and helpful. At this price, you can't do better.

Took a quick trip to Chicago and stayed at the Amalfi. Walk to and from the train isn't bad - we enjoyed the snow. Staff was very nice - always greeting you - whether coming or going. Room was a good size - bathroom has plenty of room too. Double headed shower head - made it nice. Robes to borrow in the closet. Room never got cold - heater worked well. View was into another building - so we watched some dude surf facebook for 1/2 hrs before actually starting to work :) we didn't mind - it was snowing and we enjoyed eating our breakfast and watching it fall. breakfast was nice, lots of juices, teas, coffee to choose from. The only protein is yogurt and i can't have dairy, but i survived. LOVED the nightly cocktail hour. Met friends there - very, very nice. We would definately stay there again!

We decided on a whim to stay on a Saturday night (Feb 2). We chose this hotel first because of the great location close to bars/restaurants and second because of the price. We got lucky to have gotten an amazing deal last minute which was great because we will definitely stay here again!

The room was quite large for being a standard king room, the bed was comfy and they had Aveda products in their spacious bathroom. They have a cocktail reception from 5:30-7 and a continental breakfast that is set up on each floor. Get there early because it gets picked over fast! They also have a in/out valet service for $47. This is actually a great deal if you drive and need the convenience of close parking.

The hotel is down the street from fun restaurants like the Public House and Hub 51 (we went to both) as well as Ruth Chris, Howl at the Moon and a dozen other places. It is also a quick walk to Michigan Ave shopping!

The hotel is simple sophistication with a comfortable feel. I highly recommend it!
