I found this attraction on the TripAdvisor list of things to see in Chicago. According to the website, the fountain is one of the largest in the world and is seasonal, only open from April to mid-October.
This is a beautiful fountain and we were lucky to catch it on a day when we could photograph it since it was raining off and on, the days we were in Chicago. We were there at 5 pm on a Sunday and was able to see the lights come on. We didn't get to catch the light and music show everyone talks about, but we got some great pictures since we were there at sunset.
There were lots of people visiting the fountain and taking photos. There were several professional photographers, one was a couple shooting engagement photos and a wedding party came in a limo to take photos after the wedding, so that was fun to watch for a bit.
Wasn't aware that they had a fountain like that in Chicago and was very happy to just stop for a few minutes out of our busy schedule and enjoy the beauty of it all.
