“Most convenient and classy hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

The Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro is in an extremely convenient location in Chicago. Located next to the interstate and with parking directly in front of the hotel, we had quick access for driving. From the hotel, we were able to easily walk in all directions for sight seeing and shopping. The Metro is a friendly, efficient, and well managed hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. We have stayed here twice and will stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel after spending 3 days and 2 nights on Amtrak. We were definitely looking forward to a good nights sleep, and we got it! Very comfortable beds and clean, updated rooms. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was WAY over priced for the ambiance and food we received. The food was OK - not great, just OK. Definitely not worth the almost $100 we spent (with no drinks included). The view of Chicago at night from our balcony was spectacular. The price was a little high for just a stopover on a 22 day road trip (over $200 per nite), but also very convenient if you are spending any time in Chicago (which we were not).

Located in the Greek District, walking distance to downtown. Taxis are always available.
Rooms are comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. All rooms have balconies.
Bathrooms come with a powerful shower head. Most rooms come with microwave but no refrigerator.
The cable options are very limited. Wifi Internet service is available.
The gym is very poor, Tread mills and Bikes need to be repaired.
Restaurant and bar are available. keep in mind if this is your first time in Chicago that the city has plenty of dining alternatives. Taxis are very affordable and many places are walking distance.

You can rent bicycles anywhere in downtown for about $7 just make sure to check them in every 30 minutes at any bike station. (they do not tell you that).
If it rains and you have to leave early be prepared to wait for cabs as everyone will be taking one. plan ahead.

overall it is a good hotel, service at front desk could be a lot friendlier.

Room Tip: there are not great views however choose rooms facing north or east.

I stayed at this property on my first visit to Chicago as an adult. So I guess you could say that I was new to the city, Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly face and was provided with a prompt check-in. Everyone has very helpful from the front desk staff to the restaurant/bar staff.

Special thanks to Janita who provided us with recommendations on places to go and things to see.

This was my first visit to Chicago but not my last!

It is an avg room in a avg hotel. For nearly $200/night I've seen a ton better.

Pros:
- Good location
- Good staff
- Clean
- Good view lakeside
- Internet good and free
- Great grocery store across street

Cons
- no fridge
- TV was fuzzy and small but they have HBO
- No plastic bag for dirty laundry
- Small desk for business travelers
- No pool or spa

I would say for $100/night it would be great, but $200...so so.

Nothing really bad outside price.

Beth Jostes and her staff did a wonderful job for us planning and implementing a post-wedding brunch for 100 people the morning after our son's wedding. The food was delicious, the room private and wonderfully arranged when we arrived. The staff kept the foods promptly replenished and the choices were delicious. Family and friends got to review the previous evening's festivities over steaming cups of coffee and a great breakfast before the went on their way home. It was a wonderful end to our wedding weekend! We also used this hotel for the block of rooms for the wedding and were extremely pleased with the accommodations and the pricing. EGR

The hotel was comfortable and well equipped for business purposes. I worked in my room a lot and had office facilities. The reception staff were very helpful. Janita was particularly pleasant and took time to let us know that she had received payment from my organisation so that my bill had been settled before I was checking out. It was also well located and walking to Willis Tower took 10 minutes, slightly longer to magnificent mile but buses were nearby. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely return
