“A Satisfying Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

We spent several nights at The Hotel Lincoln recently and I can recommend it highly for it's location, capable and friendly staff and the accommodations for visitors to Chicago. Having some distance from the hubbub of the Miracle Mile is a distinct advantage for those who prefer comfortable quarters and the opportunity to access Lincoln Park and the adjacent 17 miles of walking and biking paths fronting Lake Michigan. The park includes the zoo, a nature center and a wonderful botanical garden and glass houses for refuge from the weather coming from the lake. The hotel itself is well positioned, the rooms are pleasant and well equipped while not being overly fancy. Significant amenities include a terrific breakfast cafe, a respected restaurant at street level and a cool rooftop bar open year round. Views of Lake Michigan are available in some rooms and the rooftop quarters. You won't be disappointed.

We love this hotel and consider it the family base when we visit our daughter and her family in Lincoln Park. The staff are exceptionally friendly, very competent, and cheerfully responsive to any requests we may have. The rooms are clean, sheets are good heavy cotton and the towels are thick. We love the rooftop bar and can't wait to stay there in nice weather when the terrace will be open. The guys in Elaine's coffee shop are terrific too and make a wicked latte..best around in fact. We also love the immediate access to the park, the lake walk, and the great architecture and fun restaurants in Lincoln Park. We'll be back for years to come...

Room Tip: The rooms can be a tad small so spend the extra dollars and ask for a suite. Lake views are lovely a...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Lincoln for 5 nights. The staff was very friendly and gracious (especially the coffee shop staff!) and the room was clean and spacious. The location is a bit removed from the downtown area but I prefer that. The Lincoln Park Zoo is a great place to visit and a cab ride to the downtown area is quick and inexpensive. I would stay at the Hotel Lincoln again any time I am in Chicago.

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the King suite.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Lincoln in the beginning of December for a Christmas-y weekend and loved it! The decor is fun, funky and upscale all at once. The staff is friendly and helpful - I accidentally left my GPS in the room and they mailed it back to me in a hurry. The rooms are updated and clean, though a bit small. (If you're traveling with little ones who need a room with lots of space to run wild in, this probably isn't the best option.) There's safe parking available and it's a really good location - you're only steps from Michigan Avenue, the zoo, the art institute and public transportation. We have already booked a room for our next visit in July. This time, we will definitely be visiting the rooftop bar! I think we found our new favorite spot - it's similar to the Marriott Renaissance Blackstone in its vibe but a bit more cozy because its not so big. Worth every penny we paid to stay here!

My husband and I recently traveled to the city of Chicago for our son's Naval Boot Camp graduation and stayed in the city at the Hotel Lincoln. We traveled late on a Thursday night and didn't arrive to the hotel until nearly 2:00am. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by very friendly ( and chilly) valet. Happy to see us and helped us with our bags graciously. Once in the hotel, we met Terrance ( I do believe that is his name) He was a sight for sore and tired eyes...such a friendly person and again, so happy to see us and get us to our room quickly. The hotel was decorated in a kicky style and immediately made us feel welcomed. We got to our room and it was WONDERFUL! It was cozy, warm and very charming. We loved everything about it...the bed, the tv, the shower and the customer service was out of this world. We checked in and realized that a queen bed was cutting it close for us, as we each like a lot of sleep space and we asked for a king. Within seconds Terrance rang our room and had us moved immediately to another room...now THAT is customer service! We were in the city of Chicago for only 3 days ...and each time we would come in and out of the hotel, we were greeted with warm and friendly "hellos" and " have a great trip" " what can I do for you?" "Where are you going and would you like directions?" Paying attention to the customer is what matters. Our needs were met!

Room Tip: We believe any room at any hotel would be wonderful!

Hotel Lincoln is absolutely one of the very best hotels I've ever stayed at! Everything about the place is superb: the funky, ever-fascinating interior design; the comfortable, attractive rooms; the excellent coffee shop; the elegant and fun rooftop bar; the lakeside location, new downtown; and most of all, the genuinely warm and friendly staff. I also understand that the restaurant in the hotel is also first-class, but we didn't have a chance to go on this visit ... but there will be many happy returns, I can assure you!

Book immediately!

This hotel is unique and cozy. The room we had was pretty small but we all seemed to fit perfectly. The location is excellent, you can walk to the zoo within minutes and enjoy the nightlife of lincoln park. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I would definitely stay there another time.

Room Tip: Looking towards the Zoo.
