I stayed here while attending a film festival, so I had a special filmmaker's rate, but I think the regular rate is also very reasonable. This hotel has a very personal, unique feel with much attention paid to detail. There are lots of nice touches, like the ACME dressing gowns provided, free coffee and knock and drop breakfast if you want it. You can pay $15 extra and get a "city view" room, which is worth it if it's your first time Chicago.
The hotel has a lot of music references in the decor, from the 45rpm "spider" etched in the door, to the lps that adorn the escalator. The staff is very helpful, and addressed our only complaint immediately. (One day we had no hot water in the bathroom sink.)
The rooms are somewhat small but well-designed with very good use of space so we never felt cramped. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room quiet for the most part withthe exception of a few partiers here and there. If I return to Chicago I would definitely stay here again!
