Went to brunch at Pump Room today.
Overview: Nice atmosphere, cool vibe. We had pretty good service and the food was really good.
Details: The hotel lobby is chic and comfortable. We didn't see any signage telling where the restaurant is, but we found it easy enough. The hostess lacked friendliness. Our server, on the other hand, was very polite. He forgot to bring the fresh napkin we requested and he was not sure about the movie screening that was a part of the brunch, but he was extremely polite. He was knowledgable about the menu and made good food suggestions, which is probably the most important thing, right?
The food was really very good. Started with a peanut butter and jelly donut. Wife had the french toast and it was perfect. Light on the inside, crispy on the outside. I had the frittata which was a little different from the usual frittata but excellent - two eggs up with bacon, asparagus, cheddar. Very good. Also had mimosas. Small cappuccino more expensive than a large at any coffe shop. Typical hotel restaurant pricing.
After brunch was the movie screening which included desserts and more mimosas. The room is so comfortable and the service remained very good. Just a fun time.
Cool historical photos near the restrooms on the lower level.
Would take out of town visitors to this place just for the cool factor and because the food should typically be quite good.
