I came to Chicago on business and needed somewhere comfortable and hassle free. The hotel met my needs and I would recommend it both for business and leisure. The hotel is just to the north of the main business district, at the start of the Mag Mile, so well placed for shops and the Hancock Tower. The room was big, with a very comfortable bed and a flat screen TV. The view was great. The bathroom was modern and clean with white fluffy towels and Occitane toiletries. I asked to change from the 11th to the 21st floor to get a better view and my request was accommodated. Breakfast was good. There was no buffet - everything was a la carte. Breakfast was on the expensive side - US$16 for a bagel, coffee and orange, but there is a great diner literally one minute's walk away (Tempo) which is very popular with locals if you wanted to experience something more authentic. The breakfast room and bar are at ground level which seems a shame given the great views from higher up. There is no pool but there is a gym. There is also free internet access on level 2. There is a good buzz in the evening in the bar and there is a wide range of cocktails. All in all, a comfortable place to stay in a safe neighbourhood, and well placed for the shops and transport.
