“Outstanding A+”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We reserved a one bedroom corner suite, and it was spectacular. Lots of room and amenities, and the views of the surrounding city are wonderful. We could even see a corner of the Lake. The hotel staff was very accommodating and eager to please.

Room Tip: The one bedroom prestige suites are on the east/southeast corner of the hotel. This makes for excell...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I stayed 5 nights just before Christmas 2012. This is a fairly new hotel. It's a beautiful building and the room was really fresh looking. We booked a "Luxury" room with a King bed and it was on the top floor. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise from outside or other rooms. The hotel is really well located. Just a short walk to the subway (2 blocks). It is also a short walk to the "Magnificent Mile" shopping strip on N Michigan Ave and the John Hancock Centre. A couple of blocks back along Rush Street, are lots of great restaurants and pubs for dinner. Despite being in the middle of all this, the hotel is on a really quiet block with almost no traffic.

The lobby bar in the hotel was quite busy most nights with a great atmosphere. We did not eat at the hotel during our stay.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the use of the free umbrellas on a couple of rainy/snowy days.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We stayed at the Sofitel Chicago with two kids this weekend and had a wonderful experience. Such a fun design and the staff was really helpful. The location close to Nordstroms rack, the water tower, ralph lauren and anthropologie with the clearance basement is the best for shopping and great dining. It was really cold and we were very grateful to be so close to everything. There is also a wonderful restaurant called Tempo next door.

We ate dinner in Les Architects, the Sofitel restaurant and it was wonderful, such a creative menu and the staff as well as my family had fun letting the kids try new and exotic food. If you go the butternut soup is out of this world and has little spinach meringues in it, I am very conservative with my food choices and have allergies and they were very accomodating and made something off the menu for me. The restaurant is beautiful and I was a little worried to take the kids in but they are very friendly and good with them.

Our room was the smallest one with two beds and worked for us, we had a great view and I was really happy to have a tub with a hairwash sprayer and hair dryer with a low heat setting for our toddler.

I would definitely come back and will stay here again. I would love to come with my husband as I think it is very romantic at night with all the candles and fresh flowers in the lobby.

Room Tip: I think the higher floors have better views :)

From the greeting in French at the front desk to the modern, comfortable rooms, this is a fine hotel that delivers the level of service and luxury one would expect from Sofitel. I will definitely return. I have always appreciated the price/value for money at this chain.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. We another nice stay. We had a problem initially with the rooms we reserved not being on the same floor. (We would have preferred next to each other). After some discussion they were able to move us to rooms on the same floor.
