“Great location and fun atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

We come to Chicago several times a year and always try to stay at the Sofitel. We like the location, rooms and the bar, which is a small but fun place to be. The restaurant is also good for breakfast!

This was our first visit to the Sofitel and it won't be the last. Great location, beautiful hotel and nice rooms. We had interactions with several of the staff members and they could not have been more pleasant. The concierge was able to book me a pre-natal massage within an hour at a nearby spa. The rooms were very quiet compared to other hotels we have stayed at in Chicago. It's right in the middle of everything but you couldn't hear any of the street noise from the room. We loved everything about the Sofitel and look forward to visiting again.

Had a wonderful time at this hotel. When I checked in I was treated like a queen for the bellman to the front desk. The rooms were very nice and clean. Room service was great. I ordered dinner and breakfast. Beds were also very nice. Overall a wonderful romantic weekend at a wonderful hotel

Stayed from Dec 26 to Dec 29 with the kids. We loved this hotel. Had great breakfast every morning. Wonderful staff always smilling. Great room service. Nice views from the window. Only one block to Michigan Avenue. Lots of resturants within walking distance. We wanted a refregirator. The front desk said they are not sure if they have it but will check. Within minutes we had a knock on the door and they brought a small refregerator. Would stay here again.

As a regular visitor to Chicago on business this is one of my favourite places to stay. The quality of the rooms remains very high even given that it is now a few years old. The hotel has a european style to it borne out of its french parentage. The restaurant is great particularlyfor brunch on Saturday and Sunday - I often arrive late on Saturday ready for the following week and a lie in followed by a lazy brunch is a great way to start.

The bar is also to be recommended either as a solo on one of the bar stools or with friends for a glass of bubbles.

Finally for those of you whose main reason for the trip is business the rooms all contain a full size desk with ample power sockets and FREE wif-fi

Room Tip: High floors on the east side of the hotel give great views over the roof tops towards the lake

We stayed there for ten days; had a room on the 31st floor with a partial view of the Lake. This hotel is quiet, unassuming, yet very warm and inviting. The cafe des architectes near the lobby lounge is a great way to wind down after a long day.
The rooms are very comfortable, lots of amenities and great room service. The bed was probably the cosiest we have tried in a long time (they use something called the SoBed- worth a try).
The location is great, three blocks off the magnificent mile and its water tower and a couple of blocks away from the Gold coast. You'll find great shopping around the hotel, and some nice and cosy restaurants. This hotel ticks all the right boxes.

Room Tip: Worth investing in a luxury room (higher floor)
