I stayed for three days at the W Chicago Lake Shore on business. A few things to note:

- The location is on Lake Shore (as one might have guessed from the name) but not all rooms have a lake shore view, so make sure to ask for one in advance. The view at night of the Navy Pier all lit up is very nice and waking up in the morning to see the fog over the lake is a nice treat.

- Rooms are nice size and comfortable, large bed, nice bathroom, attractive and stylish without the occasionally 'over-hip-overload' that you sometimes get in Ws.

- Fitness center is nice though small. Being right on the lake, you can go for a jog along it (weather permitting).

Overall my wife and I had a very good trip to Chicago. The hotel was fantastic, and it would have been a 5, but it is a little bit off Michigan Ave. The service is fantastic and the bar is a fun place to grab a drink.

I flew into Chicago on 1/15 and it was cold until I got to the W hotel Lakeshore. The hotel was hip,modern,artsy and smelled great. Everyone from the doormen to the Assistant Manager were so helpful. The room service was great,the in room amenities fantastic, and the food was cool and tasty. The beds were so comfortable that I almost missed a meeting. The location was great near downtown and great shopping as well as very close to the Navy Pier. I was very impressed with the Acura program. The next time I go to Chicago I will certainly stay at the W Lakeshore,my new favorite hotel.

My maiden W experience, been a Starwood Preferred Guest at various brands and properties now around the globe, and W didn't disappoint! Great location, good value for money through my Founders Card membership, love the lobby bar and also Whiskey Bar on the rooftop!
