We are novice kayakers and this was a great opportunity to learn how to do it correctly without getting sore the next day. The focus on safety was great and easy to understand. We did it as a Living Social group at sunset so it was a huge crowd, so we kept bumping into each other. There were 2 hours of kayaking, no narrative to speak of, and a bonfire with food afterwards. The price was right. The people were passionate. Other reviews have detailed the water conditions better than I could, so I won't add much more about that. The sunset actually sets over the bridge as you return to the put-in point. If you want to see more of the river, you can do the same part of the river on the Wendella boat tour and it includes 2 other legs of the river and take photos then. I wouldn't advise a camera that isn't waterproof, unless you know what you are doing and can balance. We all got a little bit wet from paddling over our waist and from others putting their paddles over our kayaks. As I said- too large a group. Fun for beginners though.
