This hotel was perfect! Not a screaming busy typical 800+ room convention hotel. If you haven't figured it out yet, small properties like the Chicago Conrad, treat individual liesure travelers better than the big places who care more about large busienss and convention travel groups. I like that the reception is 5 floors above the street giving it a nice quiet exclusive vibe. The rooms are extremely well layed out so that you feel tucked away from the hallway. Immaculately clean. Friendly helpfull staff. Free coffee in the morning. Free bottled water in the room, which you need after a walk on Mich Ave. Big bathrooms with classy touches like high quality towels & wash clothes. The beds and pillows are almost the equal of our highend stuff at home. Loved the little dimmer lights in the ceiling above each pillow so one spouse can read while the other sleeps. Nicely furnished room with comphy sitting chair and foot stool. This place is quiet and a relaxing retreat when Michigan ave sidewalk crowd is getting to you just duck upstairs to the Conrad. I'd recommend a room that doesn't front Michigan ave as those rooms might be a little less peaceful because of the busy street below. Our room faced north toward the Hancock building and had no street below it. Not a single negative. Great!
