“Great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

This hotel is very nice but it really isn't in the "heart" of Chicago. Chicago's loop is a few blocks away and there are very few restaurants within 1/2 mile of it (except for other hotel restaurants). However cabs are easy to come by with a staff person always on duty to hail one. Our standard room not large but very comfortable--one padded office chair and one easy chair. We were warned not to touch anything in the refrigerator (used only to sell items--not for personal use) as a sensor would register a charge. If you want a personal one there is a $10 daily charge. Had breakfast at Filini in the hotel and excellent food and service.Concierge service courteous and helpful. Health club is the best I've seen for a hotel--lots of exercise bikes, machines, free weights and even a small basketball court for shooting (not games). Only a little over a year old and room and bath immaculate. There is a CVS pharmacy next door open to midnight. Very quiet room.

“Loved it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We stayed here for three nights in October. We got the AAA rate, which included breakfast, so actually was a pretty good deal ($250/night) given that every hotel in town that week seemed to be booked solid. The buffet breakfast was fine, the restaurant staff were kind of clueless.

As many others have said, nice rooms, good bed, relatively quiet. Everything was very clean. We didn't like the spa shower - we want to be blasted by a shower not caressed! But that's personal taste, I know many people love rain showers.

Location wasn't ideal for our needs on this trip - a long hike to the Blue Line, for example, on a cold night. But if you want to be near the lake, it's good.

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your October stay and that the room was well suited for your needs. I would, however like to apologize that our restaurant staff was not more helpful. I am addressing your concerns and apologize for any disappointment we caused for you. I hope we see you again on your next trip to Chicago!

“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Although it was only for one night, my stay was excellent. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. I had lunch at the hotel restaurant and it was much better than average with excellent service and a good variety. Will definitely stay again when I am back in Chicago.

“Classy stay in the heart of the loop.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I stayed in a standard room on the 12th floor with a view of the skyline. Everything is new and clean and modern.

The room is a bit tight, space and storage wise, but comfortable enough for two on a short stay. The highlight was the bathroom. Separate bath and shower, and a water closet tucked in the corner. The large glass shower door slides over to close off the commode when the shower is not in use. The privacy was really nice.
The bathtub was so deep and inviting that I jumped in on my first evening there for a long soak.

I didn't spend any time in the hotel restaurant or using the other amenities. Chicago as right outside the door. I found a fabulous cafe right around the corner for breakfasts and the Blu Aqua is easy walking distance from Millennium Park, with ice skating (even though it was in the high 60's for the entire time I was there in early December) and the famous Cloud Gate.

Room Tip: Look for a park view on a high floor for best results.
