My son moved to the area. I was excited to see that Chicago Q was a block away from his apartment. We went on a Wednesday night. It was suprisingly busy. We asked for a table for 4 and was given a table in the bar area. I don't have an issue sitting in the bar area but the host should have mentioned this to us prior to seating us.
We received barbeque chips and pickles as free apetizers. Both were outstanding, especially the pickles. They may have been the best pickles I have had.
I ordered the baby back ribs. They were good but not great. They were a bit dry and I suspect they were not fresh out of the smoker. They were the dry rub variety and came with 4 sauces; sweet, spicy, Carolina Vinegar and Mustard based. All were good but I had better. We ordered a side of macaroni and cheese, which was also average.
The service was polite, but very curt.
I have been to many better barbeque establishments. Perhaps it was an off night for them but I was disappointed.
