Our afternoon walking tour of the Pilsen neighborhood with Terry Sullivan and Mimi was wonderful. Our conference theme was "Urban Gateways: Immigration and the Global City," and the walking tour was the perfect capstone to our 3-day conference. Our guests, who were professors from Liberal Arts graduate programs throughout the US and Canada, were very impressed with Terry Sullivan and Mimi's expertise on the ethnic history of the neighborhood. Our guides were extremely well-informed, interesting, and very funny--- the perfect taste of Chicago for our visitors. We were very impressed with how well Terry and Mimi tailored their talk to our conference themes. And we loved seeing the street murals, visiting one of the local churches, and getting a behind-the-scenes tour of a Mexican bakery. The Mexican Art Museum was a good quick stop to finish our tour. Will definitely return to the neighborhood, and will recommend Walk Chicago to our colleagues!
