“Best hotel for business traveler in Chicago”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2011

I've stayed here 6 times since it opened and it is by far the best hotel I have stayed at for business. From the moment you walk in the door, the staff walks up to you asking how they can help. The rooms are exquisite and modern. The bathroom has a bathtub and steam shower and the mirror actually has a TV built into it that functions as a normal mirror when off.

I'm a Marriott Platinum Member and the concierge lounge is the best I've been to in the US without question. This night they were serving lamb chops, salads, a brilliant array of cheeses and breads. Definitely not what you find at a typical Marriott concierge lounge. You can actually eat dinner here instead of going out or start the night off with appetizers and a glass of wine. The staff in the lounge treat you like they are waiters and check up on you often. Breakfast is also very good. The lounge also has a private board room that guests can use for meetings, very rare and handy. However, if you want to go to the restaurant, it is very good, although a bit pricey. Try the mushroom rissotto.

The lounge in the main lobby is a nice place to meet after work with customers or colleagues. Attentive staff and decent appetizers.

The location in the loop cannot be beat, close to Willis Tower, train station, Daley Plaza, financial district.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a first class experience.

This is a new JW Marriott in the financial district. Extremely well done! Had a great room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I only stayed here for one night, but wished it was longer. The hotel is brand new and beautifully done. Service was excellent and attentive. The gym is one of the best I've seen in a business hotel, with all the equipment that one would see at a regular gym. The rooms are not large, but sufficient for a business stay, with all the amenities that one has come to expect (coffee maker, wireless, accessible electric outlets, etc.) I would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient location in the financial district.

Stayed a few weeks after opening and was very impressed. Beautiful lobby, wonderful rooms (particularly the bathroom), and great service. Also, very convenient to Sears Tower (or whatever they call it now) and nearby areas. Approaching 5 star quality. I highly recommend for business or pleasure.

When I learned JW was not just remodeling, but building a new hotel in the classic Commercial Bank building, I had to check it out. My wife and I had occasion to be in Chicago a few weeks after it officially opened, so we booked a room. Arrival was easy, right off the Orange line and down the stairs. Entrance is great, however, a bit sterile at Christmas time - i'd like to see more decor next year. We arrived in the late morning and the front desk was ready to accomodate. They actually offered to show me a few rooms before i selected one for the stay. While I checked out the rooms, they gave my wife immediate access to the concierge lounge for a cup of coffee and internet. The rooms on the 'inside' look into a black dark inner of the building and if you plan on spending time in your room, these are not the rooms for you. We decided to stay in a suite, and it was very well appointed. It was not inexpensive, and i would likely not pay full price for it - I was told over $500/night. Great views of downtown and large tvs in all rooms. However, the TVs are LED (i belive) and the picture is so sharp they look like pan-scan and make you want to throw up. Over all, it was a very good experience, and In my book, ranks right along the Rennaisance Pittsburgh, a Marriott property that I feel is always a clean and consistent product. My wife said the fitness area was one of the best she'd ever seen at a hotel.
