“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Stayed at this hotel for a concert late this summer. Within walking distance from the train station and then we walked to Soldier Field (although that was a little farther away). Excellent service at the hotel. Hotel gave us a free pizza coupon for their very nice bar which we enjoyed with a cocktail before the concert. I would recommend for a weekend getaway.

Room Tip: Our room had a nice city view and it looked like most rooms had the same type of view. We looked ou...

Good location, beautiful rooms, great service. Rooms are clean. Valet parking is a little bit expensive $60 per night. However I definitely recommend it!

Restaurants are good. Walking distance to great places to eat.

Thank you for the positive review, as you’ve discovered our location has become very competitive with the Magnificent Mile. Chicago truly is a walkable city, and we’re still only minutes away by foot or by cab.
As with all of our colleagues, parking remains a premium in the city and does drive the cost, however we have an advantage in being the closest full service hotel to Union Station as well as commuter and public rail service. Perhaps on your next visit you will opt for the total Chicago experience and leave the driving to someone else so you may relax and completely immerse yourself in what our hotel offers. We look forward to your return.

First visit, for business and this is a fine hotel. Spacious and comfortable room, and a very large and impressive gym. The service was excellent and the lobby is a great place to meet people and/or hang out in the bar.

Everything here is what you would expect for this caliber of hotel. From the entryway to the rooms to the food. This is a destination. Located on Adams in between Wacker (Willis Tower), and Michigan (everything you could want). I arrived earlier than expected and asked at the front desk when I could check in and if they had a place I could leave my bags until then. Instead of turning their noses up at me they found an available room right away. I was worried because they were upgrading me. I was assured that there would be no extra charge. The counter person even smiled and acted like I was being silly for even thinking they would do that. Through out my stay every staff person I talked to seemed truly happy to work there and to serve me. It's hard to get used to this sort of treatment, but I'd love to try. Kudos to every single person who works there and the management. Did I mention the rooms are amazing?

Room Tip: I can't imagine a bad room here.

Thank you! We couldn’t have asked for a better review. While we may pride ourselves on our unique location and bringing a new standard of luxury to the Chicago market, it is indeed our staff that sets us apart. All of our associates are determined to see each guest stay is memorable, and when our guests take the time to share their experience with fellow travelers, the acknowledgement in a public forum is priceless. We look forward to having you as our guest again soon, and for many years into the future.

We stayed on the 11th floor and had a disappointing view of the next building, however the room was very nicely appointed. The location was a few blocks from shopping and a short cab ride to the art museum. We enjoy walking and exploring so the location was perfect for us. Aside from the unruly guest on our floor (which was addressed promptly by front desk staff at 3:30 am!), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were always greeted promptly by the desk staff and even the 2 maintenance staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful with the elevator. We were able to access the 12th floor lounge and received excellent service from Maria A. She provided maps and suggestions, as well as snacks to go, for our day in the city. The next morning, she remembered what kind of coffee we liked and also brought Gilberto over to give us directions to a restaurant we had mentioned the previous day! Top-notch service and excellent food/drinks that make this our new favorite hotel in Chicago!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view and farther from the elevators for noise control.

Thank you for the kind review, apologies the view wasn’t as you may have liked, many of our neighbors are architectural landmarks, but our central location also means some are functional office buildings as well. Regardless, what defines us is our associates and we are always pleased to hear when they were able to deliver a memorable experience. All of our staff takes great pride and care to ensure our guests enjoy their stay, we appreciate the public recognition of their efforts, and happy to know you found a new favorite hotel in Chicago. We look forward to your next visit.

We stayed here for 3 nights, Fri. to Mon. on the "executive" 12th floor. We asked for a quiet room and were given a room right across from what is apparently a fancy suite (it says "quincy" on the door) where there was a party going on all weekend - a family type party with kids yelling, etc. and the door propped open- not all night long or anything, but all evening long, every evening, and very annoying. Our room on this (presumably fancy) floor was smaller than the average Comfort Inn (if you don't count the long hallway and large bathroom. ) It did not have many of the advantages of most of the cheaper hotels I have stayed in - such as an easy chair or refrigerator. In fact, there was only one chair in the room (a desk chair) so there was no place for two people to sit. The bathroom was very large and nice, although it did not have the timer light/heater that makes the room warmer while you shower. I found the room chilly the entire time, even with the thermostat turned up as high as it would go. Again, most cheaper hotels have heat that you can fully control. We stayed here partly because my friend is a Marriott gold member and so we can use the executive lounge, but since it was closed from Fri. afternoon until Sun. evening, except for breakfast, we did not get much use from that. The lounge was very nice when it was open, and the breakfast was good, but there is not really much value in being a gold member if you are mostly doing weekend travel. Marriott in the US clearly caters to business travelers. Yes, this hotel has a fancy lobby, but I would trade that for a few more basic comforts in the room. My "2" rating is based on the difference between what you would expect from a "luxury" hotel and what you actually get.

Room Tip: Don't ever stay in a room next to a door that says "Quincy!"

My husband and I just spent 4 nights at this hotel. Based upon the reviews, we were looking forward to a great experience. I hate to be "Debbie Downer" but we were underwhelmed.
First, we asked for a room close to the elevator. Instead we couldn't have been further away which was a problem since I am recovering from a fall. We noticed other rooms getting a newspaper in the morning. We did ask for one and did receive the next day, but why did we have to ask? For reasons not relevant here, we had two separate bookings. The first night we paid $375 and had to pay extra for internet. The second night we paid $325 and internet was included.
There was no directory of services in the room so we had to call the front desk every time we had a question--like how do we get ice! There was no information about hotel resturants, bars, business center, etc.
I beleive this hotel is overpriced, even for a high priced hotel city like Chicago.
Finally, we did not like the location. It is in the financial district making this a taxi ride to Michigan Avenue.
We don't plan to stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't even bother asking since they don't try to accomodate requests.
