“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013 via mobile

The JWM is centrally located downtown directly across stree from the W. the place has a nice lobby bar/ restaurant with comfortable seating and quiet enough to talk. Good reception service. The room I had was large, well appointed, clean, comfortable and quiet with responsive internet service. Restaurant was ok, service was passable but slow.
All in all respectable spot downtown.

Super quiet rooms, nice bed. Good service at the front desk (not excellent...).
But executive lounge is closed on weekends and the hotel makes no amenity available for Marriott Gold/Plat members. Won't stay there again.

Room Tip: If you want a city view, ask for it or else you'll be looking at an inner courtyard.

Hotel staff was amazing, especially Matt. Customer service at its finest. Luxury suites are comfortable and spacious. The Valeo Spa is superb, I recommend the Clarity Chamber I will definitely return.

Stayed for one night while staying with colleagues for a meeting with senior leaders. Choose the JW over other Marriott brands as expected a higher quality of both room and service - this did not happen!! I arrived to be sent to a room with no Internet connection and after almost an hour on the phone with their IT dept and still no luck I was moved rooms. They no longer had the feather free room which was a specific request on the order but I ended in a disabled access room. The room was clean but did not have a separate toilet (as is normally standard) and the shower had a disabled seat, and roll in configuration which meant the water went everywhere.

Also I had no follow up from customer service after the move, no comment from management or proactive attitude towards the issues.

In future I would not stay at the JW Marriott when in Chicago - would rather choose a cheaper property and accept the difference in service and room that brings.

Loved my visit to Chi town, yes it was windy and rainy, but the warmt and service at the JW more than made up for it. Getting to the JW from O'Hare was easy, the Blue line at the airport and a very short walk, best trip money could buy. Rooms were warm, and restful, now much of a view though. The service was terrific, love the fitness room, pleanty of cardio and weight machines, and lots of TVs to catch the morning news. Overall for a business trip, the food was great, the service terrific and yes I did get a rare full 8 hours of sleep!

Room Tip: the higher the better.

Front desk service was rude. Asked a few questions many times the person disappeared to a room off the front desk area only to come back with part of the answer. Would not suggest this hotel for a family visit.

Room Tip: Rooms are pleasant situated giving you plenty of room. No bathtubs in rooms only showers.

This is a great hotel in a good location. A little far from the magnificent mile, but overall really great. The room was very nice and the staff was friendly. It is close to a number of good restaurants and next to the Sears Tower.
