I discovered this restaurant through Trip Advisor and on our first night in Chicago, went to the PP. A little bit tough to find as the PP sign is not lit up. But after not having a clue as to what the food would be like. We ordered a cauliflower dish, turkey meatball sliders, pork shoulder sandwich, a smear and dessert. All portions were of reasonable size and we shared all of our dishes. The food was fantastic! So unique as the restaurant is advertised as all pig from nose to tail but expertly prepared in a very casual, laid back atmosphere. Our dessert was incredible...a nutella & marshmallow spread with carmelized bannas on a grilled panini bread.Customer service was excellent, very reasonably prices, heaters for outside tables and the place was packed with a 45 minute waiting period. No reservations but the gal who took our names was from our same state (ID) and took pity on us as we got lost finding the restaurant so we got in right away. I would highly recommend the Purple Pig as a very special dining experience.
