“I will definitely be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

My wife and I stayed here Easter weekend to have a couple's getaway. We used some Hilton points for the nights and was worth every point we used. The Waldorf Chicago had without a doubt the best staff of any hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Their attention to detail was second to none. The hotel upgraded us to a room that was larger than our first house! We had to make ourselves leave the room to venture out into the city. Fantastic restaurants a stones throw from the hotel. If you want the best location to stay in Chicago, stay here.

Room Tip: The fireplace was great when coming back from a cold day in the windy city.

Just got back from 5 day stay here. We used HH points for the stay, received an upgrade (from the 2nd day) to a suite room on the 25th fl and coupon toward the b/f, $59.11 per couple per day. They said b/f coupon for a diamond was a pilot pgm. We had a typical b/f on the 2nd day but it was over $85 for two (w/o $59.11 deduction). I had 2 scramble eggs, 2 sausages & potatoes ($14), oj (7), coffee (5) & toast (4) and my wife had coffee, waffle (14), flute plate (14), 18% tips was added automatically. We cut down to $3+ (with coupon) after. We enjoyed their spa, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room every day. We looked for the comp house car 2x a day (morning ~ 9:30 am & evening ~ 6:30 pm), we were successful in getting only once. We took a blue line CTA from ORD to Clark/Lake then took a taxi ($8) & did the reverse on the way back. Service was topnotch, everyone was polite & courteous, almost as good as what we received in Conrad Tokyo. We’ll definitely go back.

20th anniversary - 2 nights in the city with my wife, did not receive room we wanted but, but gave them grace on that. did not receive acknowledgement of the anniversary at check in? We were asked on the 2nd night if we would like to move to another room with a single bed but at that point we where already established in the room. Chicago has many 5 star hotels. if 5 star is the benchmark, the Waldorf fell short on our anniversary. Have stayed there before a few years back and enjoyed thought we would give it another try for a SPECIAL couple nights but have to say it let us down.

Dear Mike L,

Thank you so much for choosing the Waldorf Astoria Chicago to celebrate such a special occasion and thank you for sharing your feedback of your visit. I am terribly sorry to read that our team failed to make your special celebration more memorable. I would like to apologize on behalf of our team for not acknowledging your anniversary and for not making this celebratory stay an outstanding one. This is certainly not the kind of personalized service that we pride ourselves in; therefore, I hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to properly serve you so that we can provide you with the True Waldorf Service that you and your wife should have received.

Waldorf Hotel has a beautiful quiet rooms. our suite was nice and comfortable. The location was great. we were impressive by the stuff excellent hospitality, and the non-tipping policy of the hotel. I wish that there was a coffee maker, coffee and tea choices.. But I ordered them any way.

We have nothing but the best things to say! The Waldorf was the best hotel I have ever stayed at. They made us feel very welcomed after our rough travels to get to Chicago. The airplane lost our luggage and they provide us with a small toiletry kit upon arrival and even gave us a small traveling size bottle of contact solution so we did not have to sleep in our contacts. The bed was very comfortable after our long eventful days. They provide a complimentary car to take you within 2 miles of the hotel that was very helpful for us! Someone in our party recently had knee surgery and they brought up bags of ice one night after a long day of walking and her knee was sore. They also provided us with water bottles when we left or arrived backed. We could not be more happy with our stay here and look forward to returning!

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views!

The hotel is great! It is so beautiful and the room are very comfortable and spacious! Service is excellent and the location couldn't be better. Close to the Michigan lake, shops and restaurants. Price was also very attractive. My only complaint was the internet, which is free, but very slow. I will definitely return.

Room Tip: the suites are wonderful.

Stayed at the Waldorf because of its reputation . Near our daughters place so was very convenient. Had a nice room , 1 bedroom suite which was very nice. The room was quite and the amenities excellent. We had some issues with housekeeping coming very late in the day. We had been out all day and came home to a room that hadn't been serviced. Also had some issues with room service not being removed. The hotel responded and didn't that've these problems again.
Didn't get to try the resturant.
All in all very nice except for the above.
