“Excellent Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

The hotel was top notch service. From the time we check in, till we parted the staff was excellent. They arranged dinner reservations, recommendations, spa and room serve coordination. I sent my shoes to be shined at night and they came back looking amazing, before work the next day. Complimentary I must add. The breakfast was just average, but nice to have, sitting by the fire in your room and getting the day started. The best hotel in Chicago!

Room Tip: The Waldorf Suit made me feel right at home. I could come in after the day and relax. If you book w...

Dear Benjamin D,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive feedback regarding your most recent visit with us on TripAdvisor. I am truly delighted to read that you found comfort in your suite and that our team efficiently assisted you throughout your visit. I regret to learn that your breakfast in Balsan was not as enjoyable. Our Executive Chef and culinary team continue their efforts to develop our menu. I certainly hope that next time you visit with us, should your travels bring you back our way, you give them another opportunity to craft a memorable dining experience for you and your travel companions. We will look forward to our next opportunity to serve you, hopefully soon.

This hotel is not to be believed. From the moment you arrive "till the moment you leave you are not aware of the best trained staff of any hotel I have ever stayed at. From the luxurious appointments to the most minute detail this hotel has it all.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while staying at the Waldorf Chicago during a weekend trip in September. The hotel is in a great location, the staff was wonderful. We reserved the date prior to the HHonors points being devalued. Being an Gold member we were upgrade to a 775sq ft suite, which was amazing, larger than my first apartment. We also had a chance to enjoy the Spa, great indoor pool. The steam room and sauna were a great way to relax before heading back home. The snacks and infused water throughout the spa was a nice touch.

My only point of contention is more with the Waldorf Hotels in general. They should really have the canapé and drinks hours like the Conrad hotels, also, breakfast for Gold/diamond members. It is something that for me sets a hotel apart. I enjoyed those hours thoroughly while at the Tokyo and Hong Kong Conrad’s last year. It was a great time to relax and decompress after a long day and meet some fellow travelers.

As a semi-frequent business traveler, the Waldorf Astoria Chicago is hands-down the best hotel I've had the pleasure of staying. We were here over the Fourth of July weekend, and the Waldorf was like our own urban oasis. The staff is top-notch, the rooms are immaculate and the property is situated within walking distance of numerous Chicago hotspots, e.g. the Mag Mile and Rush Street. We can't wait to stay at this magnificent hotel again in the near future.

Room Tip: The Astoria Suites are well worth the price, especially if you can get a free room upgrade.

Was here for a single night at the end of a business trip. Room was very classy and modern.

Room service food was much better than expected (comparison is Four Seasons Chicago). The steak tartare (appetizer) was amazing.

Stayed the weekend recently. Junior sweet was perfect. Really enjoyed it. My wife won't stay anywhere else in Chicago now. Huge bath room. Plenty of storage space. Felt like home. Price was not bad either. Try the Hot Pot at the hotel.

Great hotel with huge suites. Opt for a high up room if you can. Well appointed bathrooms. Lovely spa with first class changing facilities and all the toiletries you've forgotten freely availably for you to use. Walking distance from the lake and all the shops.
