“Wonderful July 4th experience in Chicago”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2010

We booked this hotel via Hotwire w/ their Hotels.com connection (could see the hotel in advance and can cancel). The location is fantastic (on the river between Michigan and Wabash). At check in the service was awesome!! So friendly and helpful. Our room (remember we booked thru Hotwire) was on the 21st floor overlooking the river - great view. The hotel has free wifi and a service where you can print from your room or they have computers (and printers) for use in a couple of areas. They provide chilled bottled water on each floor, free self-service laundry (including the soap & softner) and on the second floor a "club" area. The bar and restaurant are nice and you can eat outside. We had a drink at the bar, but did not eat at the restaurant.

I will absolutely stay here again!! Especailly if I can get it for $111.00

This hotel has it all. We were right downtown with easy access to restaurants, cabs, public transportation and attractions. Right outside the door was the Chicago Riverwalk, offering several dining options, as well as other options on Wacker in either direction. The room was on the small side, but perfect for my husband and I, with a comfortable bed, walk-in shower, view overlooking the river and desk with free wi-fi and printing right from the room to the printer in the lobby. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the elevators are secured with room key access. For a little over $100/night, this hotel can't be beat for it's central location, pleasant room and great service.

This hotel is a great location for walking to Michigan Ave for shopping, restaurants, and is not that far of a walk from Navy Pier. You can walk to most of the great tourist destinations from here, or just hop in for a short cab ride. It's also only about a 10 minute walk from the blue and orange line CTA trains!

They offer free bottled water on every floor, and the rooms are very clean. The bed was very comfortable, but they could really stand to have an extra blanket on the beds (they only have a sheet and comforter). They had a nice desk in the room, and a newer flat screen TV. They also have free WiFi, which is wonderful!

The only real negative to me was the size of the room. Since this is a boutique hotel, the regular rooms tend to be really small. I felt like my husband and I were stumbling over each other constantly!

Other than that, I think this was a really nice hotel at a great value in downtown Chicago. I would definitely recommend staying here!

We got a good deal on our room, as we were staying a Sunday night. That said, for what we paid for it, this hotel was great. The location cannot be beat - we walked to everything we wanted to see (Magnificent Mile, Art Institute of Chicago, Grant Park) and easily used the El to get to and from the airport. It was a great home base for our short stay in the city.

The rooms are on the small side. Ours had a small kitchenette, a desk, a queen bed, and a TV. We only needed the room to sleep, so we didn't mind. The room was clean and very quiet, but very basic/no frills. The bed was on the soft-side, but was fine for one night.

The only real negative of this hotel was the elevators. The building is very old, and only has 2 elevators to serve about 30 floors. Most of the time, we had quite a long wait to get an elevator. Also, while there is free water bottles on some floors, our room (in the tower part) did not have the free water. We were able to get it from one of the other floors, considering the slowness of the elevator, we only did this once.

Overall, we are very glad we choose this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is a member hotel. It is located right across from the river where you can easily reach tour boats and trolleys. Chicago has wonderful architectural buildings, old and new. This is an older hotel with nice architecture and right across from the Trump Towers. The front desk was very helpful and courteous. An italian restaurant is located there also with outside tables and you feel like you are sitting outside in a european cafe seeing all the older ornate buildings around you. The rooms, however, are very small (at least the two I saw). I first wanted to get a "river view" room and was informed the only room is a double bed, so I took it since I was a solo traveler. I walked in the room and that's all that was in there! No desk, no chair, just a bed and a tiny window that you couldn't get to, to look out!! So I asked for the queen bed, which was still small, but had a desk (where I had to put my suitcase) and a much larger window facing the city. There was free internet access also. There is also a flat screen TV in the room. The bathroom had a shower only, but that was fine for me. At the elevator, there are water bottles that you can fill with filtered cold water at any time for free. There is a club room available with coffee & tea available along with couches and chairs, and business center. All in all, a nice little hotels with not alot of frills, but location, location, location!

Stayed there last week in a single room. Bed was comfortable. I had all the conveniences I needed. Everything looked well-kept. Even had complimentary filtered water available on each floor.
The location is as convenient as you can get in Chicago, being less than 10 minutes' walk from both the magnificent mile and the stores on State Street in the Loop.
I stayed from Sunday to Thursday and it was quiet.
Did get walked in on by a housekeeper who entered without knocking. That was the only surprise.

This hotel is centrally located, clean and a great value. We stayed for two nights, and would suggest asking for a river-facing view - it's worth it! Although our request couldn't be accommodated on the first night of our stay (the hotel was fully booked and we returned to check in late in the evening), the hotel was willing to move us to a river-facing room for the second night to fulfill our request. Overall, we found the hotel staff to be very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again and would suggest our friends and family do the same.
