I first visited Andys Jazz Club a couple of years ago when I was in Chicago on business. I had a great experience then & could hardly wait to return to Andys on my next visit to Chicago.
This time the vist was a little different & less welcoming. First, I paid a $10.00 admission on a Saturday afternoon. I was surprised to say the least. I don't remember paying this high of an admission on my last trip to Andys & I was there in the evening mid week.
I came to Andy's on my own this time & received a very poor welcome from the young hostess. She immediately directed me to a bar stool
When I told her that I did not feel comfortable sitting in the the bar area by myself, she became very rude & asked me why I didn't have a dinner reservation. I did not need a dinner reservation when I was there before, so I was surprised at her question & even more upset at her unnecessary rudeness. By the way, your dining room was practically empty at 4:00PM in the afternoon...........And I would have ordered an appetizer, but I wasn't given a chance...!!
I had already paid my $10.00 admission, so I regrettfully sat at the bar listening to the jazz band which was really good by the way.
Regretfully, I will likely not return to Andys during my next business trip to Chicago because of your insensitive rude hostess. (You might do some customer service training with your futrue hostesses.)
I went to another jazz club on this trip that had no problem seating me at a table. So I will return to that one on my next trip
