Just got back from our stay (5/27-6/2/10). We went with a group of friends (6 of us in total). Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again. I originally rated 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because of the owners not being available via phone as much as we feel they should've been (details below). I've since changed my rating to 5 after receiving a very concerned phone call from one of the owners and assurance that they would correct this problem. As a fellow business owner I was able to suggest a solution that would easily solve the problem. The owner I spoke with was very appreciative and receptive and vowed to correct the problem and insure we were taken care of if we stayed there again.
Very safe/friendly neighborhood with cool local places to keep you busy (restaurants, bars, boutique stores, etc.). We always felt very safe walking around, even late at night!
Close to public transit (CTA buses and trains). Bus stop is only a few blocks away. Buses take you to the trains so you don't have to walk all the way there.
Close to airports and downtown so cab rates aren't too expensive if you go that route
Very comfortable bedding
Gorgeous back patio for relaxing, BBQing, etc.
Very nicely decorated
Very friendly owners who live in the same building
Luxurious shower with multiple heads
Luxurious tub with jets
.. Things that could be better (nothing bad, though):
TV in living room can only be changed by walking to the kitchen and pointing the remote towards a small closet.
No TVs in any of the bedrooms.
TV in the bathroom can only be changed by pulling the cable box out of the wall behind the mirror.
It takes about 40-60 mins to get to various destinations downtown via public transit when you take into consideration the walking involved to get to the CTA and to your destination when you get off public transit.
Owners were always slow in returning calls. Two of us called early the date of our arrival with some questions and never heard back. We called again the following day regarding a different matter and waited a few hours to hear back. Thankfully we weren't calling with a problem getting into the unit.
Only one set of keys was provided. The units do have entry via key-code but if the main door to the building is locked this doesn't do you any good. You can enter the back of the unit with just your key code if you leave the deadbolt on the back door unlocked.
