First off, I would lke to say that i wore a St. Louis Cardinals hat the whole time I was up in Chicago, and even the Cubs fans were quite polite.(although it wasnt baseball season.
Anyway, My name is Andy Huggins and the The reason I wanted leave this review personally is to say that this was probably the best hotel stay I've had in quite a long time. I've stayed at Hiltons, Embassy Suites, and the like, and took the chance on the Hotel Cass in downtown Chicago because of the price. And I got way more than my money's worth. Everyone, from the valets, (great bunch of guys, every single one of them) housekeeping, the tall guy that made the breakfast(sorry I dont know his name) and the front desk(a big thank you Jackie!) were wonderful. I took my wife up to Chicago for the week just to get out of town for fun and they were not only helpful, but went out of their way to make us comfortable. And im not a 60 year old doctor, just a middle class 29 year old. The reason i tell you that is to show that at the Hotel Cass, they do not discriminate based on your appearance, they treat you with the utmost respect. Ive stayed at a Hyatt (I wont say which) and did not get this treatment.
Also, the location of the hotel is in walking distance most major shopping areas(State St. and Michigan st., as well a very large number of eating establishments that range from very reasonable to more expensive options, which is great. And the valets always knew of a good restaurant. Also, the location is great if you like to walk instead of cab ride. We only took one actual cab ride whil inside Chicago and that was to the SkyDeck. Other than that, the Navy Pier, Millenium Park, Nordstroms, misc malls, The Billy Goat Tavern(look it up, and if you go get the double cheezeborger) Unos, chicago style deep dish, and other great restaurants are a05min walk away, thee are some good ones off Hubbard St. Take backpack though, or your arms might get tired because your wife bought too much stuff.
So I would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the Hotel Cass, even if i am a St. Louis Cardinals fan!
