“Great customer care, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

First off, I would lke to say that i wore a St. Louis Cardinals hat the whole time I was up in Chicago, and even the Cubs fans were quite polite.(although it wasnt baseball season.

Anyway, My name is Andy Huggins and the The reason I wanted leave this review personally is to say that this was probably the best hotel stay I've had in quite a long time. I've stayed at Hiltons, Embassy Suites, and the like, and took the chance on the Hotel Cass in downtown Chicago because of the price. And I got way more than my money's worth. Everyone, from the valets, (great bunch of guys, every single one of them) housekeeping, the tall guy that made the breakfast(sorry I dont know his name) and the front desk(a big thank you Jackie!) were wonderful. I took my wife up to Chicago for the week just to get out of town for fun and they were not only helpful, but went out of their way to make us comfortable. And im not a 60 year old doctor, just a middle class 29 year old. The reason i tell you that is to show that at the Hotel Cass, they do not discriminate based on your appearance, they treat you with the utmost respect. Ive stayed at a Hyatt (I wont say which) and did not get this treatment.
Also, the location of the hotel is in walking distance most major shopping areas(State St. and Michigan st., as well a very large number of eating establishments that range from very reasonable to more expensive options, which is great. And the valets always knew of a good restaurant. Also, the location is great if you like to walk instead of cab ride. We only took one actual cab ride whil inside Chicago and that was to the SkyDeck. Other than that, the Navy Pier, Millenium Park, Nordstroms, misc malls, The Billy Goat Tavern(look it up, and if you go get the double cheezeborger) Unos, chicago style deep dish, and other great restaurants are a05min walk away, thee are some good ones off Hubbard St. Take backpack though, or your arms might get tired because your wife bought too much stuff.

So I would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the Hotel Cass, even if i am a St. Louis Cardinals fan!

Room Tip: the rooms are small , but it is in the heart of Downtown Chicago , so the views are nice and locatio...

To the nicest Cardinals fan we know,

Thank you so much for your review! It means a great deal to us that we helped make your stay enjoyable. Kudos to you for planning such a fun getaway for you and your wife and you both definitely took advantage of every minute here in Chicago! Even better that you made it to Billy Goat Tavern, as you know it's a Chicago institution!

So thank YOU and we hope to see you and your wife again very soon (maybe you'll take a chance and visit us during baseball season??). Thanks again!

Stayed here as a couple for 3 nights. Location is great! Close to various restaurants and shopping. Room was small, but suited our needs. Breakfast area is a bit small for the number of rooms the hotel has. Staff was nice. Would stay here again!

This hotel was extremely convenient regarding location, which was a huge plus. The rooms were (very) small, which I knew about beforehand and didn't mind. The breakfast every morning was very good, with a variety of hot and cold food items. The best part about this place, though, is the staff. The staff here was friendly, outgoing, helpful, and warm, with no exception. We had the pleasure of dealing with probably 20 different staffers over the 4 days we were there, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with every one. And though the rooms were small, I will most definitely be staying here every time I go back to Chicago!

The rooms are updated and modern. They are also very small. It was pretty much quiet and relaxing. The heat is terrible in winter though. The heaters are not big enough for the small rooms. They are movement sensored so if no one is in room or not moving the heat does not kick on. That is a problem for those that cannot stand being cold in the winter. The staff was pleasant. They do not help with parking in any way. I asked about cheaper parking ($40.00) and they ignored me completely. The garage next to the hotel is $40.00 overnight (cannot leave at all). We had to leave for a business meeting after only being there for 2 hours and was charged $28.00 for parking.

Room Tip: Stay close to the airport (cheaper and better quality for money) and take train, bus, or cab to city...

Hello BrownsFan - Thank you for staying with us and for your recent review. While the heat does have motion activation like many hotels, it should stay at the temp while you're sleeping. We have double checked to ensure all the systems are working properly and thank you for bringing it to our attention. Also, we passed along your kind words about our courteous staff to the team.

Thank you again.

I stayed at the Hotel Cass for two nights, it was good and comfort. The only thing is the room is tiny, but it has convenience location. It just two blocks aways from Michigan Avenue. You can go shopping anytime. The staffs are friendly too. I left a camera case there after i checked out, so i call to their lost and found department, they found it for me. Over all experience was not bad, everything is fine there.

The hotel is within walking distance of great shopping, bars, and restaurants on the Magnificent Mile. It maintains the elegance of the 1920s with all the contemporary comforts of a newly renovated hotel. Nice breakfast (though not many vegetarian options) and friendly service. No pool is a bummer. Small but beautiful rooms.

We stayed for three days in this hotel. It was a very good experience and the location was excellent. Though the rooms were a bit smaller (considering Chicago Downtown property, I wouldn't complain). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to friends travelling to Chicago.
