Booked through Priceline, so this is what we got for the very reasonable rate. Location is great for Mag Mile shopping. Parked across the street for $47 for 24 hours. Check-in was very smooth and and staff was very courteous. Initial room contained a double bed. They upgraded us to a king for no charge. They wanted another $20 to upgrade to king suite with a view. We passed as it was only a one night sleep over and we did not pla on being in the room much. Room was clean and bed was not too bad, but whole place is pretty outdated. View was of an alley and building next to us. Had to pull shades unless you are ok with others watching you. Wife was not crazy about the bathroom, as the counter was small and the lighting was poor. Doors are heavy and slam if you don't eaze them shut, so you will hear neighbors come and go. Otherwise sound was reasonable for downtown Chicago. Gino's East next door and Giordano's two blocks directly west. Water Tower two blocks north. Overall, not a bad experience, but we certainly have gotten better through Priceline or Hotwire. Previous reviews of Giordano's are available. Our first time review of Grand Lux is available in terms of Saturday brunch. Do we hope to get this property again? No. Would I stay here again otherwise, No. Sorry, nice people, just nicer places to be had.
