“Great hotel with awesome view, location and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2010

The view and location were excellent and you couldn't ask for more friendly and accommodating staff, including at the Palm Restaurant in the lobby. Will definitely go back for the summer view!

Stayed for one night. Everything was perfect, as it has been the 2 or 3 times I've stayed here; and on a frigid night in March they forgave the health club fee, which is one I find particularly irksome. I'd always recommend it highly, and check the deal here first when i come to Chicago

My daughter and I arrived at the hotel early Saturday morning (before10:00 a.m.) on Feb. 13th to attend a wedding. Upon communicating to the front desk personnel, I was slightly thrown aback by their overall excellent customer service. They answered many of my questions and a few that they couldn't immediately answer but searched until they satisfied my inquiries. I can't recall the young ladies name who assisted me but she gave me a "warm and fuzzy" feeling - really displaying a welcoming demeanor as if to say she is glad my daughter and I would be staying at their (Swissotel) hotel. The room was just magnificent! The linen and comforter on the beds were very comfortable which gave my daughter and I a pleasant night's sleep! Also, when we checked out VERY early - Mon. morning - BEFORE 5:00 a.m., the young lady who assisted me displayed a very charming disposition as well. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name either. And, the young man (doorman?) who was readily available during THAT time and who also summoned a cab for my daughter and I - I think his name is ?Clarence? Calvin? or a name that begins with the letter "C" - he was extremely charming and helpful as well. What a very fine team the Swissotel has assembled at THIS location. If I have to fly into downtown Chicago again, I would definitely choose the Swissotel! Not only because of the excellent customer service we experienced, but for the overall location and price!

For my annual visit to Chicago with my wife we stayed at the Swissotel for 4 days. Ask for a room up high (floor 35 to 40). We splurged an extra $25 for the lake view and it was worth it - larger room and terrific view. The gym on floor 42 is outstanding - takes up the entire floor with a large enough pool and hot tub - all with magnificent views. We had a problem with our door which the staff fixed quickly so that in no way did it interfere with our time there. The quality of the amnities (TV shampoo shower bath etc.) were outstanding. I have no compliants whatsoever.

Spent four days at the Swissotel for a conference of 400 people held at the hotel. Excellent hotel, great meeting facilities, clean, bright, and spacious rooms, courteous and efficient staff, excellent location (just off Michigan Avenue with views of the lake and river), very good steakhouse (The Palm) attached to the building. Walking distance or a short cabride to many of the best restaurants and sights in the city. If you're looking for something a bit more reasonable in price than the four star downtown Chicago hotels (Ritz Carlton, Peninsula, Four Seasons, etc) without any dropoff in staff service or location the Swissotel is your best bet!

Have stayed many times before, but this needed to be special for our son, soon to be deployed to Afghanistan and his wife and 20 month old daughter;and our younger son. Everything couldn't have been more perfect with an outstanding view of the fireworks over Navy Pier. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Service is gracious and helpful. You can't go wrong choosing this hotel.

We had a great time at Swissotel Chicago. The highlight was when we called the front desk about rowdy neighbors and asked if we could be moved and the front desk accommodated us without hesitation. The breakfast had a European Flair to it which was nice. Swissotel is now at the top of our Chicago hotel list.
