“Great location and room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We booked this hotel last minute and thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite only having a day to tour the city, the location provided a great starting point for visiting many of the Chicago gems. Took the blue line and got off only a block from the hotel. Arrived at 2 am and felt completely safe walking to the hotel. Would definitely suggest a day pass for the city bus as we'll to get around the most affordable way.

Room Tip: Northwest or northeast side

Concierge was extremely helpful and gave us coupons for restaurants. Room was roomy and excellent! View from here is fantastic. Convenient location to the Willis Tower and downtown. Staff was more than helpful and friendly. Definitely stay here again when I come back.

I wasn't so crazy about the neighbourhood, but our well appointed room more than made up for it. It's not that the neighbourhood is bad, and even though it is downtown, it has that 'a little out of the way' feel to it. I'm rating it 'very good' because of what it is, not where it is.

The title summarizes our experience here for a testimony. We discovered this gem through the Tripadvisor search engine, looking for an affordable and convenient hotel in downtown Chicago, preferably in the "Loop". The reviews we read on this hotel had built our expectations up....we were not disappointed. It sits within walking distance of many of the downtown sight seeing stops (Skydeck Chicago, Art Institue, Grant and Millenium Parks) and is within a block or 2 of the "L". A Metra Train station is about a 10 minute walk which can take you to the Museum of Science and Industry and University of Chicago. The room was spacious (Queen bed with workspace) and the staff are not only courteous but friendly and ever so accommodating. The restaurant has the most amazing breakfasts....so make time for that also. We so enjoyed our stay that we would love to stay here again on our next visit to the Windy City.

Looked for a hotel at a not too expensive price with a great review score and this was it! Friendly front desk staff (mother/son team) and Catherine the next morning, plus helpful doormen.

Huge rooms, I expected a small room as it was listed as a boutique hotel, but they must mean high quality, not small rooms! My wife was pleasantly surprised for her birhtday!

The front desk staff also suggested a nice family owned pub for brunch, Blackies, just south a few blocks and over on the corners of Polk and Clark.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east sie have a great view of the library and it's gargoyles.

This was our first stay in Chicago and made for an excellent, all-too-brief stay in a wonderful city.
Reception staff very efficient and helpful in guiding us around the city and transport.
Showtime the concierge could attract a review in his own right and recommended a number of good places to eat nearby.
The room was a huge, comfortable corner room.
Being in a busy city a certain amount of outside noise can be expected, but it wasn't really a bother and our stay was very restful after a tiring flight.
Great location, convenient for the waterfront, Sears (can't get used to calling it Willis) tower etc.

This hotel is tucked away in a great location in downtown Chicago. Close to Grant Park, the Bean, Art Institute, Buckingham Fountain, the lake and Museums. It appears to be newly renovated and everything looks wonderful. Rooms are large and staff are always very friendly. Great Mexican place nearby just a few blocks to the south, as well as a Starbucks across the street and a Potbelly 2 doors down.
