“Another Very Pleasant Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

We were in the city for shopping and dining. From arrival to departure we found the staff cordial, accommodating, and very professional. Our suite was clean, comfortable, up to date, and convenient. We had a very pleasant Michigan Avenue view from both the bedroom and the living room, and a tasty treat of mixed fresh fruit was there for our arrival.
No complaints? Really, no. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This is one of the truly great hotels in America.

Room Tip: If you will be in a room on the west side, ask for a room above the 20th floor. You'll see very...

No one does it better than the Ritz @ Water Tower in Chicago. We have stayed at this location 6-8 days per year since (at least) 1992. Spectacular staff & service, awesome rooms (Lakeside Suites have unmatched views of Navy Pier) and a perfect location for anything retail and every dining experience.

Room Tip: Lakeside suites are the best in town.

The hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was terrific. We arrived early and they let us check in around noon since they had a room ready. The view was terrific, looking south at the city and the lake. Room service was delicious. The only minor complaints were a couple items were left off the room service when it was delivered, and a couple times the car wasn't ready downstairs despite calling ahead. But those were very minor complaints, overall it was a terrific stay.

Just finished another visit to the Chicago Ritz Carlton and must rank this property as one of the best not only in Chicago, but one of the best in the entire world. The rooms, food, public areas and location are all perfect. The lobby on the the 12th floor is beautiful beyond words....and the bar and restaurant staff are the best. The rooms are so comfortable, quiet and clean.

However, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. The management of this property are lucky to have some of the finest staff that I have seen anywhere...and I travel a great deal. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay the best experience possible. I can't thank the staff and management enough for all that they do.

Stayed in October at the ritz version of the four seasons as we had a very good rate. Paid for an upgrade to a suite
Hotel is central but not close to public transportation but excellent for American girl and shopping. Views from e room were excellent
Hotel requires a double elevator to the lobbyi on the 12 th floor and checkin staff were friendly and eager to help.
We were able to checkin quite early which was nice
Rooms (suite) have two separate rooms which are quite spacious
The couch would pullout for a family with two bathrooms
One of the nice things about four seasons are usually spectacular bathrooms. These are dated and with mediocre quality fixtures and are in fact not in the best of conditions. Tubs are tiny and old
Bath products are high quality and everything was clean
There were chips in the cabinetry and the towel racks were loose etc.
closet space is small
Beds are very comfortable and linens acceptable
Since I hold the four seasons to the highest standard I feel they meet only the ritz standard here and while very good did not have a wow factor

Just got back from a 3 night stay at this beautiful hotel in downtown Chicago. Location was perfect for us, close to shopping and only a few blocks away from all of the touristy spots. We managed to get a great package that included parking which at $65 a day would really cut into the other luxuries. We were asked immediately on check in if we wanted an upgrade and were very happy we didn't spend the extra $$$. Our room on the 26th floor with a king bed was far bigger then any other big city hotel room that we had ever had before. We had a glorious view of the lake and the backside of Big John (locals referral to John Hancock building). Spent alot of time just soaking up the view. Lavish bathroom with double sinks and separate toilet/tub room. Great little bar area with fridge, ice bucket and wine glasses. Habit for hubby and me to shop for wine and bar before checking into hotels so we can partake after a long day of sightseeing. They were so quick to offer to bring another fridge up to the room to keep chilled our own personal refreshments. (Finally a hotel that wasn't trying to push all of those expensive little bar bottles on us) . We tried the gym out one morning (same complaint as I have with every other hotel gym, Why so darn hot! Get the air circulating somehow! We have to say though we loved the treadmills with their own personal tv's, headsets and towels already waiting for us. We even partook of the refrigerated towels after the workout, what a novel idea I'll try at home.
My biggest kudo's go to all of the staff. Consistency with every single employee from the Concierge to housekeeping to check in to valet parking these people seemed so sincere in their approach to customer service. We never once experienced an uppity approach to the clientele that we have seen in other establishments. We can't comment on any of the restaurants as we spent all of our time dining out on the town, but we could only just imagine. Thanks to the Ritz for our memorable time in Chicago and to the management you should be extremely proud of your dedicated staff that represent you well.

Room Tip: make sure you get a room with a view, the hard part will be which view to choose from. Lake or beaut...

I wish I had spent my money elsewhere. My children, their spouses and I went for my 70th birthday. We asked for a photographer and they discouraged us from doing this. The children wanted to send flowers to my room and they said they didn't do that. They ordered candy to be in the room on arrival and that did not arrive until later that evening.
