“Great hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

I loved the bed, the room, the bathroom, the location, the staff. Only reason it did not get 5 stars is it felt very big and busy....but its a big city hotel.

I used the spa here and it was WONDERFUL.

Stay here, you won't regret it.

Hotel was fun to be in because it was busy and I am currently in a small town. The rooms were small the lobby gorgeous the location so convenient for sightseeing and shopping in Chicago. The location was a trade off for the space of a chain in the suburbs but for our purposes was worth the saved time. The location probably also saved on transportation costs

There are very few places with the grandeur and classic elegance of The Palmer House. The lobby is unbelievable and so are the many nuances that are unique about the architecture. If you like to stay in Classic Grande Dame tuype hotels, this is the place to stay in Chicago.

Got a great rate for Mothers Day Weekend. We spent three nights here. As everyone has said, the lobby is one of a kind. It's worth spending some time in. The hotel is in a great location.

Check in was fast, the staff was professional and friendly. Our room was on the 19th floor looking at with a view of another building and the El, which you hear every train go by. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom and tub was small.

The only downsides were no in room coffee pot, $13+ Internet service, and worst of all, sloooow elevators. A few times we just jumped on one going the wrong way to ensure we got a ride. All in all, I'll stay here again.

Hotel was full when we arrived - late in the evening so we got a room that was located behind the bank of elevators. Not a good place. We did not ask for a new room the next day - would have had to pack up and move. Our bad - but it won't happen again.

This is a good, convenient place to stay. Was within walking distance of everywhere I needed to be. The biggest negative is that - for coffee drinkers - there are no coffee pots in the room!! Starbucks is in the lower level and that is the closest place for morning coffee. Terribly inconvenient!!

I have no issues or complaints. The hotel is located in an excellent and convenient location. The room is clean and very quiet. I had stayed in this hotel before and will stay here again next time I come to Chicago.
