“Well... Oprah sends her guests there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2011

This is Oprah's hotel of choice when hosting guests in Chicago. So obviously it must be good enough for phlebs like us. What i like about this place is that unlike most hotels, the average room is actually quite nice. Whereas as most other hotels require an upgrade before it gets nice. The beds are oh so comfy.

Now here is my little tip to you if you want to get a room here at a steal. Hotwire has this place for very cheap... around $120. However, for those of you who don't know , hotwire requires that you book without knowing the name of the hotel you are booking. In exchange you get an incredible deal. The only details they give is the approximate location and features. Now the secret.... There is a site called better bidding that will help you figure out what hotels you are actually looking at on hotwire. By this way you can get an incredible on hotels such as the omni, the drake, and other high end places.

Good luck!

I love this hotel...I have stayed here several times and every time we come its great!!It was our anniversary and the hotel knew so the one evening when we came back to the hotel room, there was a cake with writing on it wishing us happy anniversary. A wonderful suprise.!!If I could I would stay here everytime but sometimes rates do get to high pending on whats going on in the city.

Room Tip: ask for a higher up room and a corner room

The good parts: A great location right on the Mag Mile...but not close enough to an "L" stop to be truly convenient to public transportation; One of the nicest beds I've slept in...but the slippery comforter kept sliding off so I had to flip it over to the fuzzier side. Great toiletries. The bad parts: Costly and slow internet; broken A/C in the workout room (but otherwise a really well-equipped room with high-grade headphones and lemon-infused ice water...no one seemed to care that the workout room was 85 degrees either); a Ritz-Carlton going up next door that blocks views (Howdy Neighbor!); housekeeping kept insisting on cleaning my room two hours after I checked in (never knew I was that much of a slob).

What a great stay at the OMNI. The only hotel I stayed at that had free wifi, large rooms, and a great hot tub. The service at the front desk was impeccable and even switched my room to a double bed suite when I found out a colleague was going to be staying with me. (At no charge). You have a customer for life. I will be staying at the OMNI in Dallas next

This hotel was perfect for us, a family of four with one eight-year-old and a two-year old. First of all, our cab was met at the front door with a "welcome crew". We were treated as if we were VIPs and the kids were given gift packs to open in the room. Everyone seemed interested in helping and genuinely glad to work at the hotel. Service was impeccable! All rooms are suites and we got one overlooking Michigan Avenue on the 17th floor. The suites are ideal for families especially when you'd like to put the kids to bed in one room and still have some couple time in the other. We asked for a fridge and it was delivered right away. This was good as our kids have food allergies and we could store certain foods in the room. (Also, there is a grocery store & drug store w/in 3 blocks away.) Wifi was good for hooking up our laptop and getting info on our surroundings. Pool was a bit small but we weren't in Chicago to swim. I wish every hotel could be this great!

Room Tip: Simply ask at the front desk--quiet, great view et

The Omni Chicago has one of the best location for seeing Chicago. Right on Michigan and we were able to walk to Rush St. restaurants as well as down to millennium park for some great sight seeing. The staff and service of the Omni was outstanding in every area. The beds were great for a good night sleep and the bathroom was very nice. The only minor concern was some of the sitting area furniture was a little worn but still fine and very functional. The Omni's breakfast buffet was outstanding and a must if you in the area.

We stayed at the Omni several years ago and did not care for it at all. Upon arrival, we found a used condom on the floor - beyond disgusting! The hotel management moved us, but it definitely made us wonder about the cleanliness of the rooms. Fast forward several years, and I decide to take my daughter to Chicago for a quick weekend shopping spree. I got a fantastic rate at the Omni from an online travel site and decided to give it another try.

This trip, the Omni was great. The location can't be beat, and our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. I was hesitant to stay there after our first experience, but after this positive experience I will even recommend it to my friends.
