We visited the Lincoln Park zoo on a Saturday in April when the weather was perfect, 2 adults and a 1.5 year old. We parked in the lot which has a fee but there were no street spaces when we got there at 9:30am. There is no fee to get into the zoo itself therefore no lines to wait in! The zoo was a manageable size for a toddler, in other zoos you have to walk and walk just to get to an animals "area" only to find out they're nowhere to be seen. In this zoo the animals were all out and about, some obviously showing off, you didn't have to walk far to see the next animals exhibit. The farm in the zoo was very interesting, we saw the cows being milked while someone from the zoo explained what was going on and how the process works. There is another barn with farming information and a tractor inside along with some places for kids to play.
We ate lunch in the main restaurant, there was tons of selection with reasonable prices considering you were at a zoo. We had a kids hot dog meal and two Mexican meals which were very good. The main shop at the zoo had a lot of things to look at including a lot of educational stuff.
We will definitely be heading back to the Lincoln Park Zoo the next time we visit Chicago!
