“Great for everyone.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

We visited the Lincoln Park zoo on a Saturday in April when the weather was perfect, 2 adults and a 1.5 year old. We parked in the lot which has a fee but there were no street spaces when we got there at 9:30am. There is no fee to get into the zoo itself therefore no lines to wait in! The zoo was a manageable size for a toddler, in other zoos you have to walk and walk just to get to an animals "area" only to find out they're nowhere to be seen. In this zoo the animals were all out and about, some obviously showing off, you didn't have to walk far to see the next animals exhibit. The farm in the zoo was very interesting, we saw the cows being milked while someone from the zoo explained what was going on and how the process works. There is another barn with farming information and a tractor inside along with some places for kids to play.
We ate lunch in the main restaurant, there was tons of selection with reasonable prices considering you were at a zoo. We had a kids hot dog meal and two Mexican meals which were very good. The main shop at the zoo had a lot of things to look at including a lot of educational stuff.
We will definitely be heading back to the Lincoln Park Zoo the next time we visit Chicago!

“Great time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

We spent 3 hours here for a free zoo. We have not been to a zoo in years and had a blast. It was 1st class. Everything here was totally over the top for a Zoo. I can not believe this place was so nice, and well kept.

“A shadow of its former self!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

The Lincoln Park zoo has lovely grounds, well manicured and kept. The zoo itself however is only a shadow of the former Lincoln Park zoo. Years and years have taken its toll on the zoo and its ability to support attractions that visitors would really like to see. Sorry to say that I use to really enjoy the place, but now nothing much new at all.

“Free Zoo, Magnificent Conservatory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Wonderful FREE zoo. The zoo is a meandering park with all kinds of animals in wonderful habitats. Go from the farm in the zoo to the conservatory through winding paths and ponds. Wonderful experience! Take the family and you can have a picnic, too. Love this zoo!

“Lions and tigers and bears --- and much much more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Our group went to the Zoo on Sunday morning when it had just opened. We found Sundays to be less crowd first thing in the morning and mostly young families with strollers. We stayed for only 3 hours but found that to be enough time to see all the animals my little one had on her “to see list” (even the Meerkats 3 times!)
