“Good for shoppers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

If you like big box shopping, crowds and chain restaurants the Mag Mile is a good place for you to go. I prefer none of these, so I only take first time visitors here so they can say they've seen it. It's fun to see as a first timer though and overwhelming at how many shops there are in such a short distance. It's also a great place to take teenagers I imagine since any kind of store they may like is likely located here.

“Nice but too rich for my blood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

We really appreciated the excellent architecture of the Magnificent Mile. It was fun to walk the streets, but we didn't go in any of the stores because they were too rich for our liking. I especially enjoyed the water tower and the story behind it. I thought Water Tower place was beautiful (it is a mall) and it is so much more intense then when I visited in 1984. The Hancock Building is fun and if you haven't been up it, why not give it a try. The view is beautiful. There is a set of stairs that goes down to the Navy Pier shuttle which you definitely want to take if you want to go there because it is a LONG WALK. Don't miss the Mag Mile.

“Prosperity!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

This is a beautiful walk, very clean, flowers attractively placed, one high-end store after another. Don't really plan on finding any deals, but to me, that's ok. Some might call it decadence, but I like to view the finest wares even if I don't have a fist full of cash to throw at the merchants. I can always stop at Giardelli's and/or Hershey's for something to bring home. Don't forget to take in the beautiful architecture in some of the golden age buildings that have been kept clean, including the old city water works. We also went to the top of the Hancock building, for $18 it was worth it.

“Magnificent ??? Not really. ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Don't know what all the hype is about this street. It's basically a very crowded, outdoor shopping mall with all the usual big names, Gucci, Armani etc. and the prices reflect this. Much more " Magnificent" shopping places in Europe. Paris, Marbella. Berlin etc.

“Shop till you drop!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Every type of upmarket shop you can think of! Start at the bottom by the Wrigley building and walk up finishing the John Hancock Building and have a drink in the bar at the top and enjoy the view of where you have just shopped. Eating along the mile can be quite expensive so work out where you want to eat just off the Mile and time that for lunchtime. Nothing is cheap around here!!!
