“A pity the shops close early...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

The Magnificent Mile is supposed to be the vibrance of the city with its many shopping and dining options. The shopping ranges from the very luxurious of Tiffany & Co, Hugo Boss, Burberry, etc, big names like Disney, Macy's, Nike, etc, mass market stores like H&M, Forever 21, Gap, etc, and even specialty stores like Crate & Barrel and Nordstrom Rack. The downside of the mile is that the shops closes at around 8pm and some even as early as 6pm on Sundays. Why??
By night time, tourists will have no choice but to "seek refuge" in restaurants like Gino's East or Giordano's and stores like Walgreens.

“The most American city of States”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Ok, so Chicago is as American as it can get. If you are from outside States, then whatever you have ever heard, seen or think about America its here in Chicago i.e many tall buildings, trains passing through them, the loop, yada yada. Other than that I really expected more from Chicago and from Magnificent Mile. Seriously, I was just disappointed to know a couple of blocks of shopping is all there is to Magnificent Mile

“Average yet clean city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

I'm not too impressed with Chicago. If you like clean, organized, and walking a LOT, then this city is for you. This area will impress you, as there are a lot of shops and places to visit. It's fine if you are with good friends or family. If you are planning to travel solo or as a couple, I would choose a place that is more interesting. This place is a standard shopping area, and good for walking. Everything is expensive.

“Chicago likes to shop!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Chicago, Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile, a shopper's paradise!

I am from New York and this was very similar to Fifth Avenue. From Bloomingdale's to Nordstrom to Guess to Cartier to Zara, this strip had a lot of stores to choose from. Mind you, these stores are mostly $$, but if you love to shop, then $$ is not an issue. They even have Forever21 (which is my girlfriend's go-to-store *Babe you are not 21 forever!!) and a Nordstrom Off The Rack.

The shops are easy to find, if you are looking for something specific or just wander around, until you find something you like. Grab a Starbucks and keep the energy up as the stores go for blocks and blocks. As with other reviews, people say "Wear comfortable shoes" and I would agree. Restaurants and shops are basically all around. There is even a movie theater.

Bring a good amount of $$ or plastic if shopping is one of your favorite past-times. This strip is just for you!

“Shopping heaven !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Our hotel was in the next block so we visited lots of times.

The shops are amazing, so many different stores including well known brands and designer brands too - something for everyone.

If you go to Chicago you cannot miss a visit to the Magnificent Mile - even if you don't buy anything (impossible!) in any of the shops !

If you like shopping - you will love shopping here. Like Oxford Street in London but US style!
