“Wonderful exhibit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

One of my fellow travelers is a dealer of Mexican Folk Art in Seattle. This museum was recommended to him. He was duly impressed with the selection of art work. The building is new and there is ample parking surrounding the building. The Target Corp. was funding the admission at the time we visited so we got in free. The exhibits were set up as sort of a timeline which made it very interesting. Day of the Dead art was very prominent. If I were visiting Chicago, I would definitely make this a cultural stop. Very enjoyable.

we liked the way we learned about the Mexican culture with pictures and descriptions. Some places although have changed like the mentioned coffee-shop.

“A Fascinating Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Part of the point of going on a holiday is to see things you couldn't see back home. This certainly fitted the bill. An excellent museum of Mexican art which combines the story of Mexican history and culture with some wonderful historical and contemporary Mexican art. When we visited there was a special Day of the Dead exhibition on which was particularly good.

“Very interesting and free”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

I have been to Chicago many times and had never heard of this museum until I read about it on TripAdvisor. My son and I took the Pink Line train out there and greatly enjoyed the experience, including the neighborhood, the art, and the fantastic gift shop!

“A treasure on the west side”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

This is one of the most interesting places showing Mexican art. Not far from downtown, parking nearby is easy, most of the time.
