My wife and I dine out weekly to different restaurants in the City- always looking for something new and not eating at the same place twice. We were so pleased with Mexique. This is not a traditional Nacho chips and Taco's place. The is very inventive with a Mexican/Spanish flare. ALL the portion sizes are very reasonable from appetizers to dessert. I would say the dessert was actually a bit large given the fact that the four of us all completely finished every preceding dish. Service was excellent, parking was easy (metered on the street), we didn't see a valet, but the restaurant site stated there is valet service.
I can't say enough about the price/food value. This place is a gem and extremely reasonable for the amount you get, the level at which the food is prepared, and the overall ambience.
The menu choices are good size and offer options for those that are vegetarian or vegan.
If you are from out of town or live in the Chicago Area this is definitely a place to hit. Close to the end of our meal the Chef came out and thanked us for coming to his restaurant- we of course conveyed enjoyment to him.
I'm sure if you dine there you will not be disappointed!
Families with young kids- not a place I think young kids (pre-teen) would eat at, that's not to say they wouldn't enjoy it, but because this is not a traditional Mexican restaurant expectations would need to be managed. We didn't see any kids at all, Mostly couples/groups of friends and some business.
