“Great value for Chicago!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Stayed here 4 nights after bolting from the Ramada. Seems very upscale by the grand lobby and formal dressing on the front desk staff. Very friendly and polite. Incredible value at under $100 per night (at least in December) - including free parking - thought there must be a 'catch', but the bill was the bill - no hidden charges ($1.00 for a local call for pizza). Large room, 3 meal options on site. Felt safe - never saw any 'undesirables' near the building. A little noisy as it's 1 block from the L, but hey - it's the city right? Will definately stay here if in the area again!

“Always a great stay here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012 via mobile

Our daughter attends school nearby and this is our 'go to' hotel to say. Reasonably priced, clean, safe, friendly staff, and nice rooms. We've been stayed here quite a few times in the last couple years and never have been disappointed.

“Good value for money; Customer service needs help”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

Stayed 1 night at the Chicago South Loop. If I could exclude the check-in and having to deal with the unhelpful front desk staff (the morning shift) and then paying $16 for a VERY lackluster (customer service-wise) breakfast buffet, I'd give the place 5 stars. Clean, comfortable, very reasonably priced and conveniently located, the hotel is perfect for any business travel. Free parking + free wi-fi seal the deal.

You may want to skip staying on Saturday night if you want some sleep. We stayed on Saturday night and there was some sort of a function/party at the downstairs restaurant and we could hear that base booming up on the 3rd floor till 2am. Add to that some obnoxious, drunk female who felt the need to scream and laugh at the top of her lungs outside beneath our windows and it was hard to get to sleep.

“Average, felt safe, awesome pillows, free parking!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Our group of three (one couple, one friend) booked this hotel to attend a beer festival at the Bridgeport Arts Center, located 2 miles away from the hotel.

While this hotel is priced on par with others closer to downtown, we received a $50 discount for the event we were attending, which was a major factor in our decision. Take note, the location is much better suited for McCormick Place travels and not wanting to walk right out and be Downtown. FREE PARKING.

Check in was easy, and we were allowed to check in at 1130, way before their listed check-in time which was very convenient. Sadly, the ATM was out of order and we had to visit the next nearest ATM which is a Chase Bank ATM at 19th and State. Cabs were ready and waiting at 1230 when we needed one for our journey to the festival.

The room was plenty spacious and the pillows were wonderful. Bathroom was large, but water pressure was very low. Rooms were quiet aside from the rumble of what sounded like loud A/C/HEAT venting in the walls. We never heard a peep from other guests. Luckily we were on the opposite side of the hotel and didnt have to deal with the loud music from the club downstairs, which other reviewers have mentioned. I would not have been able to sleep through that.

When we returned from our event we grabbed food (wings and a burger) from the bar and ordered a few Budweisers. Prices were reasonable. However, when we asked to order the bartender stated the kitchen wouldnt be ready for an hour, yet other guests sat right down and ordered food from her...she never came back and informed us of the kitchen being ready. We flagged her down again and ordered anyway. It seemed to be a major inconvenience to the bar staff to have to take food orders. At least the wings were good.

Neighborhood: Its South End Chicago. Close to the Dearborn Homes, but I never felt unsafe. Parking is well lit and fenced in with an attendant.

Room Tip: Stay on the EAST WING to avoid the club music ruining your sleep.

“We stayed here because it was the only room available under $700 in all of Chicago.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We had to go so we crossed our fingers. What a pleasant surprise. It was great. The room was great, the restaurant food was great. Much more peacefull than staying downtown. A short 10 minute bus ride to downtown. We go to Chicago every year for the casual furniture show and next year we'll be coming back here for sure.
