Our group of three (one couple, one friend) booked this hotel to attend a beer festival at the Bridgeport Arts Center, located 2 miles away from the hotel.

While this hotel is priced on par with others closer to downtown, we received a $50 discount for the event we were attending, which was a major factor in our decision. Take note, the location is much better suited for McCormick Place travels and not wanting to walk right out and be Downtown. FREE PARKING.

Check in was easy, and we were allowed to check in at 1130, way before their listed check-in time which was very convenient. Sadly, the ATM was out of order and we had to visit the next nearest ATM which is a Chase Bank ATM at 19th and State. Cabs were ready and waiting at 1230 when we needed one for our journey to the festival.

The room was plenty spacious and the pillows were wonderful. Bathroom was large, but water pressure was very low. Rooms were quiet aside from the rumble of what sounded like loud A/C/HEAT venting in the walls. We never heard a peep from other guests. Luckily we were on the opposite side of the hotel and didnt have to deal with the loud music from the club downstairs, which other reviewers have mentioned. I would not have been able to sleep through that.

When we returned from our event we grabbed food (wings and a burger) from the bar and ordered a few Budweisers. Prices were reasonable. However, when we asked to order the bartender stated the kitchen wouldnt be ready for an hour, yet other guests sat right down and ordered food from her...she never came back and informed us of the kitchen being ready. We flagged her down again and ordered anyway. It seemed to be a major inconvenience to the bar staff to have to take food orders. At least the wings were good.

Neighborhood: Its South End Chicago. Close to the Dearborn Homes, but I never felt unsafe. Parking is well lit and fenced in with an attendant.

We had to go so we crossed our fingers. What a pleasant surprise. It was great. The room was great, the restaurant food was great. Much more peacefull than staying downtown. A short 10 minute bus ride to downtown.We go to Chicago every year for the casual furniture show and next year we'll be coming back here for sure.

Well to start with the positive, the staff were polite enough and the room was clean. However everything else about this stay was horrible. We were in Chicago during marathon weekend so when my other half booked most other places were fully booked and we ended up here as it was one of the most reasonably priced hotels available.

The hotel is a long way from pretty much everything we wanted to see and do; tourist attractions, good nightlife, nice restaurants etc. which meant we ended up spending a lot on cabs during the weekend we were there. The hotel and rooms are very basic and definitely no frills but the main thing that brings this hotel down in my ratings was the terrible "club" downstairs. I don't know if it was a regular event or if it had been hired out but every night of the weekend there was a dubious crowd hanging around by the entrance to it and the music was truly awful, believe me I know because from my 3rd floor room I could hear it as loud as if I was actually in there! Ruined what was already a very average experience. Honestly all I can say is do not stay at this hotel unless your only concern is cost. For me I would rather spend a fortune to stay somewhere nicer and more central if I return to Chicago, and we visited bars in some of the other hotels there so I know there are definitely nicer places!

I stayed here for 3 days while attending a conference at McCormick Place. My stay was extremely pleasant. Everyone at the hotel, restaurant, and bar were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-attended. The coffee shop in the mornings was great for breakfast to go or eat in. The nicest part was the fact that it was one of the most affordable hotels within walking distance to McCormick Place.
