Having been to the Field and the Museum of Science and Industry in early June of this year I would say without reservation that this is the best of the 3. It has exhibits that are informative and up to date (the permenant exhibits at the Field and the MSI both have many displays that are in disrepair and have out of date information). It has a large display of objects used for navigation (compasses, sextants, astrolabes, etc) that are presented with their place in history. Many interactive displays. The view of the Chicago skyline is also very good. It was as good as you can get and still be on dry land. The food is also quite good and significantly better than the affore mentioned other 2 museums. (The Field's offering is a McDonalds!) City buses drop you off right at the enterance and surface parking is closeby.
