“Great Family Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

We love to visit Chicago whenever we get a chance. This latest visit included a walk through the Field Museum. The pricing was a little bit tricky with all the different package bundles offered on the website. For just a little bit more $$, you get a lot more access to special exhibits. We were able to enjoy a 3D film about Ice Age Mammoths, which my young kids really enjoyed. All things considered, this visit was wonderful. They even had a coat check.

“Chicago World's Fair Exhibit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

What a unique and thoroughly enjoyable exhibit featuring actual artifacts that were exhibited at the 1893 World's Fair of the White City. The creators did a great job educating the present day visitors about the history, but also promoted a sense of participation by using historic, actual black and white photos, enlarging them, and then projecting them and cleverly inserting "actors" dressed in period costumes to make the photo appear alive. I felt as though I was witnessing the actual event.
A sense of wonder was inspired by relating to that time in history, stressing how unique the features were at a time when technology was non existent and the world was so isolated. Inventions, creatures, discoveries, and cultures on display for all to witness and experience.

“LOVED it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

I really enjoyed my time at the Field museum. It was my favourite activity from my visit to Chicago. I found it to be spacious, clean, well-organized, informational, and interactive. All of the things I look for in a museum. While the tickets were somewhat pricey, it was relative to the experience. The exhibits change regularly (like every other museum on the planet) so I plan to return next time I'm in Chicago!

“Great Museum of Natural History.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

I tend to find Museums of Natural History somewhat depressing because of the fact that all these animals are dead. The museum does a good job of talking about how some specific pieces were acquired over the years.

There are some great displays here, Sue the T Rex being one of them, but I found their collection of Cats amazing and quite enjoyable.

While it isn't as large and impressive as NYC's, the Field is a great museum and would be a hit with little ones for sure!

“Great again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

Lots of things to do - hard to get tickets using the associate discount from another Science Center (quite a line). McDonald's well managed, but needs more than one, small drink location. Longer line for drinks than food. Museum itself was EXCELLENT. The Nazi Germany Propaganda exhibit was EXCELLENT - the Walt Disney exhibit was pretty good and had a lot of real items from the studio.
