“Beautiful treasure box!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

Not only is the Tiffany dome outstanding, there are usually no people here which is so nice! There is a nice coffee lounge with free art exhibition around the building. A great FREE spot to relax, kill time, and read up on Chicago history.

“More than you'd expect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

This is not only a great place in a central location for tourists due to the visitor's center and Chicago Greeter program, but there are art exhibits and frequent music or dance performances as well. Tour the Center for the architecture as well.

“A beautiful building worth seeing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

The architectural details are amazing. Seems like every surface has a decorative treatment, mosaics abound. This was the old city library and was apparently on the chopping block when the new library was built. Thank goodness it remains. There are two gorgeous glass domes, one a restored Tiffany dome, that are must sees. There is art on display, but it seems that they lean toward Modern artists and if that is your thing then it's a big bonus.

“Beautiful Building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This was only a few blocks from our hotel and everyone recommended we see it. Great Tiffany glass inlays as well as two beautiful domes. There were three art exhibits going on in the place so there was lots to see. Spent about 2 hours just wondering around. The place is free to visit and the staff were eager to tell you about the place.
