“Another Chicago must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Great place to visit. You can see four states at the top and the ledge is great for pictures. There is a lot of history to learn about on the way up, including a short film. It was a clear day so we could see the city well.

Visited on a Sunday morning when they opened. No line and the views were priceless. A must do when in Chicago.

“Essential for architecture fans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Anyone who has first taken an architectural boat tour or gone exploring the city on foot will get a lot out of a visit to the Skydeck, as this vantage point allows you to take in dozens of Chicago's noteworthy buildings in any single view, and better appreciate how they relate to one another.

We went on a Monday, late morning, and were pleasantly surprised to find the lineups were much shorter than we expected. The experience is well managed by the staff, so crowds up at the Skydeck were not a problem. There's an interesting (optional) free video at ground level explaining the tower's construction.

I'm ordinarily afraid of heights, but had no trouble at all walking onto the glass ledges and looking down, probably because these are fully enclosed glass boxes that give a feeling of security. Highly recommended.

“Amazing Views, Go Early to Avoid Crowds, and Go On A Clear Day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

The (Sear) Willis Tower has such amazing views of the city and Lake Michigan. The sky deck or glass ledge is unbelievable. I am afraid of heights and it took me a little while to build up the courage to go out on it but it was worth it, you feel like you are literally standing on air. My daughter on the other hand has no fear and she laid face down on the glass floor (got great pics of her). We went early before 10am and had no wait at all and we also had a lot of time at the sky deck. When we left there was a large line to get in. I also bought the City Pass which is a great deal. City Pass also has its own entrance so if it is crowded you do not have to stand in the regular ticket line. You can purchase the City Pass on line and I definitely suggest it, it saved me a lot of money and time.

“Go early! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013 via mobile

We got there at 0845, the elevator to the entry area opened at exactly 0900hrs and there were about 20 people in the line. Elevator to lower level, tickets $18 adult and you can experience how long the lines could be with the marked areas. When you get to 103rd floor I recommend you walk directly around to the ledge to get some great pics in one of the four ledge areas. You'll have plenty of time to read the information once the crowds stay hitting. We left at about 1000hrs and the lines were forming and the ledges were crowded. Enjoy getting scared. ...
