Have been visiting this pub since 1987 and today was in for lunch (4 of us). I am a bit fussy with pub food and previously have sometimes thought portion control was a compensation for quality. The new owners certainly set high standards....my chicken with bacon wrap was delightful; my wife's spicy beanburger with fries and gherkins was also very good. Our friends who live just down the road at Gretton Fields enjoyed their food as well. I think the new decoration with much lighter colours really opens the long side bar area up and feels much more spacious. Nice pint of dark bitter as well. Well done to the new owners!
