My husband and I went to this restaurant last evening for the first time. It was like an old supper club atmosphere which was okay. I started with a wedge salad which was good and my husband had the seafood chowder which he also said was good. I was trying to decide what I wanted and I had it narrowed down to scallops or Ahi tuna. I asked the waiter about the tuna and he said, you really should order a steak because you won't be disappointed. I really wanted seafood because, I try not to eat red meat too often but, when I do I really want it to be worth my while. I caved in and asked him what he recommended. He said the ribeye was the best. My husband ordered his ribeye medium and I ordered mine medium rare. We split a side of green beans and a baked potato. When the steaks came and I cut into mine I found that it was well done. My husbands was thinner than mine and his did come out medium. When the waiter came by he agreed that mine was well done and he offered to have a new one cooked for me. I said no because I would have to wait while my husband ate his then he would have to watch while I ate mine.
also, we were splitting the sides and we would be eating separetely. The manager came by and did offer me something else but, we would have had the same problem and after hearing what happens to food that is sent back to the kitchen, I said no. I tried to eat the steak but, it was dry and tasteless. There were no juices coming from it at all. There was also grissle through it. My husband said his was just ok. The baked potato was even overcooked. They did take my steak off the bill but, I had a dinner of a 1/2 baked potato and green beans. The table next to us also had a problem with part of their meal and the manager brought them a to-go container of their side dish. The manager was very nice but,I really think that there is no excuse for a steak restaurant not knowing how to cook a steak. I think the waiter was pushing the steak instead of the seafood because it was double the price. We will not be back. There is another restaurant in the same area in Burr Ridge called Topaz which is much, much better.
