I recently stayed at the Sunset Inn and was very displeased with it.

The first room that we were put in was on the ground floor. All of the rooms have sliding glass doors to the outside. The door did not lock (the locking mechanism was missing altogether) and the safety bar that was on it could be knocked out of place by jiggling the door back and forth. There was also serious soap scum in the bath tub.

We went to request a different room and were put on the second floor.
The sliding glass door still did not lock and the tub was just as dirty.

We went back to the front desk and requested our money back and were told that we couldn't have a refund because it had been about an hour since we had checked in. We didn't check the door on the first room right away because it is not something that should be an issue. We checked the second room right away and were dissatisfied immediately.

He offered to put us in a different room on the second floor. The door actually locked on that room. The bathtub was still filthy and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom.

We were supposed to have a nonsmoking room and ended up in a smoking room because of the door situation.

None of the rooms had the same furniture layouts or same size televisions in them.

There is supposed to be a heated outdoor pool. The pool didn't look like it had held water in a long time and the concrete apron on it was deteriated and busted up. There were old mattresses laying outside in the pool area that looked like they had been there for quite some time.

They are in the process of "remodeling". New carpet had been put in the rooms but had never been vacuumed since it was installed. There were beer bottle caps laying on the floor in the last room that we were in.

When we took our showers, there was no water pressure when you turned the handle to hot. You could have plenty of water pressure if you wanted to take a cold shower.

When I was checking out the next morning, another guest came to the front desk and said that the tv remote didn't work, there were no towels or washrags and no ashtray in her room.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and feel sorry for anybody else that has stayed there.
