Describe the service you experienced:
The service was very friendly, expedient, and professional. The host, Peter, who knows the area very well and the golf courses and their menus off by heart, can and will take care of all your golfing and dining needs.
A full breakfast starting with fruit salad and yogurt is accompanied by peameal bacon, eggs and/or french toast made with croissants and caramelized apples.
Tell us how you liked the room:
I would describe the room as spacious 'country comfort', completely decorated with golf memorabilia which non-golfers might find a bit overwhelming. The room was well equipped, and spotlessly clean with a private bath.
Talk about the location & amenities:
The Gallery is easy to find as it sits on the 10th fairway of The Warkworth Golf Course on County Road 29 about 20 minutes north of Brighton, Ontario in Northumberland County.
It really is perfect for golfers who can enjoy breakfast outside while watching others tee off while Peter secures and loads the cart in preparation for the round. Afterwards, golfers can enjoy the 19th hole steak specials and local beers as drinking and driving is not an issue.
The Gallery B 'n B has a hot tub and dry spa, which works wonders on golf weary muscles. The living room/lounge area is a great place to sit around with a drink and talk golf with Peter and his wife, Janie while watching the large screen TV tuned to the golf channel.
Within a five-minute drive are two other very different golf courses at excellent rates. The 100 Mile Diner and Oak Heights Winery offer other good dining options and the town of Warkworth is fun to explore and makes for good shopping for local food products and collectibles by established artists.
Say what you liked best & least:
I loved the beautiful old home dating from the late 1880's decorated with Peter's paintings and drawings of golf courses. I also liked the casualness of the Gallery. We teed off fairly late in the morning and I never felt rushed through breakfast which we were free to choose the time and location of where we wanted to eat. I also liked the stocked snack fridge for guests, which we were always welcome too, and the advice and discussions of local courses and the history of the house and golf course.
The room was a bit warm as the air conditioning had not yet been turned on for the summer season.
