“Wallace Inn A Terrific Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Rick Shaffer, the General Manager of the Wallace Inn, is terrific to deal with and an asset to Wallace, Id. We were part of a bike tour group and he went out of his way to talk to the group and give us a historical overview of the area. He also arranged to transport our group to the Hiawatha trail and met us with hot coffee and towels at the end of a rainy ride. The Wallace Inn is quiet, comfortable, clean and the entire staff is very accommodating.

We had a great stay at the Wallace Inn in Wallace, Idaho. The staff was friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. They offered great insight on the local biking trails. The restaurant was only open for breakfast do to off season. They had nice indoor locked bike storage for our bikes and there was a shuttle to the best trailheads of the Trail of the Coer d' Alenes. A great place to stay in the area.

Room Tip: Modern, very clean, quiet and handy.

We stayed at the Wallace Inn three nights in September 2013. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was roomy, comfortable, attractive, and clean. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice. The only things I would change are that the jacuzzi was too hot and I would have really liked a microwave in the room (they do provide a fridge). But the staff was generous about letting us use the microwave in their coffee closet, which I did about six times.

This is a great place to stay if you are riding the Trail of the Hiawatha. The town of Wallace is pretty, and the history of the railroad and silver mining is all interesting. The City Limits restaurant was our favorite.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend the Wallace Inn to others.

Room Tip: We had a single queen room on the Hiawatha package and got the third night at a discount also. Ther...

Our bicycle club, Spokes n Folks from MN had a fabulous time in northern Idaho. Rick from the Wallace in was so helpful in planning our trip, our stay there was wonderful. Everyone at the Wallace Inn is friendly and helpful and even knew all about biking the trails. The town of Wallace is charming and so walkable from the Inn. The Hiawatha trail was certainly a highlight of our biking, though all the trails were beautiful, mostly along water, through cute towns to historic places. It didn't hurt the weather was fantastic - a good time was had by all 17 of us!!

Spacious rooms and great service. Love having a little sofa in our room so we don't have to lay on the bed all the time. Rick Shafer, the hotel manager and an avid cyclist, helped plan our two days cycling the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and the Route of the Hiawatha. Shuttled us and our bikes down to Harrison so we could bike the 50 miles back to the hotel on the Trail of the CdA. This is one of the best bike routes anywhere!! The best part would be from Plummer to Kellogg though, so might try to make arrangements to do that route next time. Rode the Hiawatha both ways but there's a shuttle if you only want to ride it downhill. Breakfast in restaurant was really good.

Hot tub felt really good after the long day of riding too!

Room is a good size and clean. The fridge is also quite large for a little fridge.
The swimming pool ...very relaxing as we had been driving for at least 7 hours today. The bathroom is also a good size. Friendly staff. Also easy off the highway and easy to find.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Wallace Inn (with 27 other coach passengers) and from the moment we walked in the door till the time we left the next day, the service was wonderful, the rooms were exceptional, food was great and the staff was friendly. Definitely take a walk thru historic Wallace and get the Prime Minister to buy you a beer :) I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone who is going.
